THIS is the problem in UK politics today So according to UK media and the Tories - Rayner has to prove she is cleared by HMRC (this despite already being cleared by the Standards Commissioner Meanwhile - Farage can recieve a £5million 'gift' or ' reward' which he has said was so that - he 'would be secure for the rest of his life', - 'for security as he is the most attacked MP in the country', -as 'a reward for Brexit' - can buy a £1.4million house in cash - a year earlier buy a £575k house in Kent - allegedly receive another £1million payment (see Ben Habib) - face questions over a cash purchase of an £885k house which he said he purchased, then his girlfriend purchased, - Tice can be challenged over several tax 'irregularities' - Jenrick is under Police investigation reference a donation from a convicted 'wire fraudster' in the US - via a company his wife worked for - who was aware and could say nothing due to 'privilege' - where the donor has spoken to Police and claimed Jenrick/team were fully aware of source (denied) - who when challenged initially over the donation deflected around in interview stating he had never met the donor (yet his wife worked for the 'source' Yet there is media silence - except it's ok because Nigel said this, Tice said that, Jenrick denies it

We have now approved enough clean energy projects to power the equivalent of over 18 million homes across the UK. We are driving further and faster for clean homegrown power that we control to protect the British people and bring down bills for good.

If these growing financial scandals involving Farage do not become resignation issues then this country is completely throwing in the towel on standards in public life.

Housing insecurity is a reality for almost everyone under 45. Even homeowners will have seen wild volatility with mortgage deals in last 5 years. Which is why many of them are….voting for the Green Party.
Dance@DikiRance81

If you’re 45 and you’re living in a house share with 5 other people. You’re a fucking loser that’s terrible at making important decisions and shouldn’t be trusted to run a bath let alone a country.

@ry_paddy Doesn't matter to the average person when they can't even afford housing. (still proud of all these factors though!)

ppl are so overly negative about the UK vs reality. - 4 of top 10 universities globally - third largest VC market globally behind only USA, China. 1/3 of all VC in europe - powerhouse in creative industries - second largest music exporter in the world - largest biotech ecosystem in europe - massive growth sector in the coming years - London is the top western hub for AI after Silicon Valley. - excellent financial services base and broader services economy. Number one for FX, number two for PE and Hedge Funds - produces 20% of global offshore wind TLDR UK is overwhelmingly a top 3 or top 5 player globally across finance, law, defence, biotech, clean energy, creative industries, and tech (especially AI) We are incredibly well positioned for the future. We have a number of problems we need to fix - I believe we will do so. Extremely bullish on this country

@EngFocus Not sure how everything would play out once you include price tbh. There is efficiency gains for diesel in general though. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… - Article on the US and Saudi bombing the emission talks. Don't know how things are changing with recent events tho

@OblivMC If existing ships could run on diesel would there be no noticeable efficiency gains? US pulling out of the emissions initiative is seriously going to set things back considerably

Just thinking out loud here, so go easy. But if we drastically reduced our dependence on diesel for land based transport and transitioned ships from burning heavy fuel oil to diesel would that have a noticeable impact on CO2 emissions?
Noel Dolphin@NoelDolphin

OK - stay with me. This ship shows the difficulty with UK Gov's policy of hoping batteries will sort rail freight. This ship has 10 containers of batteries (19MWh), but only a range of 90ish miles (1/2).
