I believe it should be complete common sense to understand that serious pain during childbirth is a result of the narrow birth canal humans have, and that the reason for the narrow birth canal is our narrow pelvis … and the perfect and clear evolutionary explanation for our narrow pelvis is our bipedalism (walking and running upright with our two legs to chase food and run away from predators among other important advantages of bipedalism)…which was absolutely necessary for the survival of our ancestors and our species … and would not be possible if our pelvis were wide. If our pelvis were wide as bipedals, we wouldn’t be able to walk or run properly, so we had an evolutionary trade off … our ability to walk and run on two legs properly for hunting and escaping predators in exchange for a narrow pelvis … which also led to a narrow birth canal as a result, and subsequently painful birth … So painful birth was a small evolutionary price to pay for survival. This is a perfect, well studied , and evidentially supported evolutionary explanation for why women feel pain during childbirth. But some ancient ignorant Middle Eastern goat herding theocrats who didn’t know where the sun went at night said women feel pain during birth because a naked couple ate a magic fruit in a magic garden and, as a result, were cursed by an all loving god ….and “educated” adults in 2026 believe them due to indoctrination 😂

Oklahoma finally banned child marriage. But 36 lawmakers still voted against it. If 36 people in positions of power can look at banning CHILD MARRIAGE and say “no,” that tells you everything you need to know about the kind of people holding power in this country.

@ThatsBoSheep Stop waiting for comfort to just happen. You will never feel well off enough to buy a house or have kids. The best decision I ever made in life was to find a good woman early, dedicate my life to my family and buy a house and never settle for good enough.

The twitter debate about food affordabilty seriously has me uncomfortable. Can't believe we're at a point where we're trying to convince people that a burger and fries from a fast food joint is a luxury and indulging in it sometimes is living above your means if you make under six figures. If you think its okay for someone who works 40 hours a week (or more) doing the jobs most people don't want, but commericial society can't function without...and then have the audacity to tell them they're irresponsible for getting a cup of coffee, or a take-out meal? We're not talking some five star restaurant and steak with all the trimmings. We're talking about a drive thru window. It's just the rich dehumanizing the poor and moving the goal posts... again, to make it not 'a cost' problem. A 'commerical' problem or 'greed' problem. But the problem of the average worker instead. Money tight? Yeah, maybe don't get Starbucks every single day, maybe don't eat out every day. But this invalidation and online shaming of people for things that USED to be considered accessible? "Them darn kids and their avocado toast!" ...God damn, please.

@DrPlantel It is expected that you will listen to and read your discharge instructions. If you do not, that's on you. If someone has an ankle surgery, is discharged 2 days later and treats their ankle like normal and returns to work, the Dr's didnt fail... the patient failed.

@DrPlantel You guys are dumb. C section do not take 2-4 days to heal from, they take 6-8 weeks to heal well enough for light duty work and exercise. Then its 6-12 months until fully healed. When you have surgery, the staff will get you stable enough for self care.

The number of people who think mothers should be expected to fully care for a newborn without help immediately after a C-section is honestly insane. A C-section is major abdominal surgery. A 4–6 inch incision through multiple layers of abdominal wall and tissue…while simultaneously recovering from pregnancy, sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, bleeding, pain, and trying to feed and care for a newborn. Are we applying this same logic to literally any other surgery? Would you expect someone after a hernia repair or abdominal surgery to immediately become the primary caretaker of another human 24/7 with minimal recovery time or support? And no, C-sections are not always a “choice.” Sometimes they are medically necessary. Sometimes they are emergencies. Sometimes they save lives. And even if someone did choose pregnancy, that does not suddenly make them undeserving of rest, recovery, pain control, or support afterward. I’ve seen women talking about going back to work before they’ve even properly healed because they literally cannot afford unpaid leave. That should disturb all of us. The way society minimizes postpartum recovery, especially after C-sections, says a lot about how little we value women’s health and caregiving labor.

@DrPlantel Ha! I was screamed at by a nurse at St Thomas’s hospital for not being able to get out of bed quickly enough two hours after c-section. And then breastfeeding propaganda on top of that🤦‍♀️

@jack_turban There is a process the schools can go through if they believe a student is being abused by their parents. Being Trans should not change that. The idea that a teacher or the school could just decide keep secret a students "medical" and psychological condition at school is bad.

The GOP passed the forced outing bill, sending it to the Senate Sadly, some trans youth are kicked out of the house when their parents find out they are trans Because of this, schools have policies giving staff discretion regarding when and how to share information with parents
Rep. Melanie Stansbury@Rep_Stansbury

Mr. Speaker—Bullying trans kids: -Won’t end this war -Won’t address the economy -Won’t make us more free It will only hurt our kids. Which is why we are a HELL NO on this bill!

A couple in California spent five months intentionally luring bike thieves into their front yard with an unlocked bicycle, beating them with aluminum baseball bats, and posting the videos online. Corey Cornutt, 25, and Savannah Grillot, 29, of Visalia were arrested in January 2020 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, in connection with at least four beatings between July and November 2019. Police said the couple planted a bicycle in the front yard unsecured and waited. Once someone tried to steal it, both rushed out and assaulted them with a baseball bat. The videos they posted made the prosecution straightforward. A neighbour told reporters there would be blood on the street the next day after each incident, and had warned the couple: "Maybe it's not the best idea you're kind of bringing people into the neighbourhood that might not be here otherwise." They ignored her and continued. In each case the victims received various non-life-threatening injuries. The couple documented their own crimes in enough detail to guarantee their arrest.

@rePro_Truth You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what i am or you are intentionally trying to avoid defending your opinion. I am not coming to you as a student, I am your opposition. Pick a state that best shows your grievance so we have a good faith argument on the facts.

@rePro_Truth I am asking pretty clearly asking you for one specific example. One state that has an abortion ban you believe does not allow for the care you say is needed. One example because I cannot argue against a list of states.
