Briefly back on here to say that, with the exception of one or two long-standing commentators/creators, the VR content creator pool is full of absolute downers and is probably a contributing factor to why new players get turned off.

When I loved to LA a 2 bed/2 ba apartment in Hollywood cost $1220/month. I barbacked for $200/night. Today that same apartment cost $3600/month yet that barback gig barely pays more.

Meta considers VR a failure if Horizon Worlds isn’t successful. This is really bad. There is no way that dumpster fire of a platform is going to work. No matter how hard they force it on people. So after the Quest platform dies, who picks up the pieces? Valve?

I grew up in the biz - my dad produced Independence Day, my mom worked on Seinfeld. I've seen firsthand what it costs to create worlds on screen. This video from the @thedorbrothers below is mind-blowing.
Software is going through the same shift right now. Writing code is no longer the bottleneck, knowing what to build is. Film is next.
But production was never really the magic. The magic was always taste, story, and knowing your audience. The barrier to making something is collapsing to zero. The barrier to making something *great* never changes.
The real golden age of storytelling is about to begin.

Our side of the aisle is so embarrassing some times. We’ve gotta have better artists than this if we’re trying to present an alternative to the mainstream. I hate country music and Kid Rock is a an irrelevant old dinosaur from the Bush era. He wasn’t good then, either.
I haven’t listened to Bad Bunny. I don’t know his music. But evidently it’s current and now. Do we have anything like that we can offer? And if not, a huge classic Aerosmith type legendary band?

I didn’t watch the NFL’s halftime show but I’ve seen the clips here. Just an absolute disgrace and a massive middle finger to the fans to have the entire show in Spanish. Football is an American sport. This is our culture. Our pastime. I was expecting a disgusting spectacle, but it looks even worse than I thought.
