@wigger No there’s an entire industry built on taking things out of context to get clicks including this post

nobody taking it out of context cept you king. Youre feeling the psychological and spiritual weight of an unstoppable meat grinder (that youre paying for, partially) and in this honest vulnerable moment your friend is using language deliberately designed to make you look crazy
Theo Von@TheoVon

People are taking stuff out of context and thats not fair. Joe and i were having a convo abt getting off antidepressants prior and this is after that. Joe has been supportive on and off mic abt my well-being, like any friend would, and im grateful. Thanks @joerogan for having me

@CheeseForEvery1 They could have also just kept the focus on Rick, Darryle, Carol, and Michone instead of giving every background character way too much time and attention.

@calveroisdead The cliffhanger pisssd people off. The show relies on keeping information from the audience that the characters had way too often. If the story is good that’s not necessary.

@Grummz If someone can get me the exact instructions to make this I would be amazed. I’m sort of retarded so they need to be step by step and a materials list.

@BretWeinstein People don’t think about anything and it’s frustrating watching smart people say I just don’t understand how they arrive at this conclusion. Luckily I grew up around idiots and retards with no recession making restraint.

Can we all at least agree that IF Israel sought to block peace negotiations by intentionally targeting Kamal Kharazi (the Iranian negotiator), that it would be an egregious betrayal of our alliance? I'd like to understand how supporters of war with Iran see this. I'm stumped.

@Grummz I want a PC that works as easily as a console. Every computer game I have ever bought I had to do something to make it work. I fucking hate it.

@fakehistoryhunt @itsexplained But I read a history book about a guy named Ned Stark and he chastised his wife for thinking his three year old wasn’t ready to watch him behead a prisoner.

@itsexplained Nope. Although children worked and helped, they were still treated as kids, given time to play, had toys made for them, got into trouble, etc. Childhood was a very specific phase of life, they were absolutely protected.

The concept of childhood is historically recent. In medieval Europe children were treated as small adults from the age of 7. They worked, married, went to war, and were tried as adults in court. The idea that childhood is a protected developmental period requiring specialized education, play, and emotional nurturing emerged largely in the 18th and 19th centuries. Every assumption you hold about what children need, how they should be raised, and what constitutes a normal childhood is a cultural invention less than 300 years old. The way you were raised felt universal. It was recent. #itsexplained

My teens wanted to watch a horror movie so we watched The Shining, which sent me down a rabbit trail Critics *hated* The Shining when it was released. Siskel gave it 2 stars. Variety said Kubrick "destroyed all that was so terrifying about the King novel". One critic called it "Shallow, self-conscious, and dull. Read the book". Kubrick was nominated for "Worst Director" at the first Razzie awards I find all of this insane. In imdb, The Shining is rated as one of the top 100 movies of all time. It is seared into our collective memory with "all work and no play" and "Here's Johnny" and "red rum". Somehow Kubrick made a horror movie that every "smart" person hated when it came out and yet endured as one of the great movies of all time. How do you do that?

This woman couldn’t afford the price she was quoted for a new roof. So…..she did it herself. If you read the shingles package, it literally tells you how to install the underlayment & shingles on a roof. Nothing more motivating than saving a LARGE amount of money. Would you ever attempt this? 🤔 That is some tough labor.👏💯

The first Sherlock Holmes story has to be the most unintentionally funny classic novel You sit down to read it thinking you know what Sherlock Holmes stories are like and then halfway through it turns into violently bigoted anti-Mormon propaganda where Utah is portrayed like a cross between Nazi Germany and Saudi Arabia and the Mormons have an advanced surveillance state with secret police and roaming Mormon death squads chase families across 50 miles of wilderness because for some reason they really wanted to turn one specific woman into a sex slave It’s the best thing ever written. 15/10
