We booked a Stayvista property in Munnar from Airbnb for ₹36k. From the start, there were many issues: leeches, cockroaches, a non-working gas stove, fungus on curtains, damaged non-stick utensils in the kitchen, and flickering lights. It has been the worst experience. We booked for 2 days but are leaving today. When we contacted Airbnb support, they said we lacked enough evidence of a bad experience, would follow whatever the host says, and offered only a ₹1500 refund. Worst experience with Airbnb customer support. If you book from Airbnb, don’t expect any support if things go wrong. don’t ever book this property in Munnar. The house is full of leeches. Avoid Stayvista or Airbnb from now on. 😞😞😞 @AirbnbHelp @Airbnb_in @Airbnb @bchesky @amanpreet_bajaj

💔💔❤️‍🩹 Meet the little daughter of a Brahmin pujari… ⬇️ An innocent 4 year old Brahmin child , happily visiting her grandmother for summer vacation in Nasrapur, Pune but faced brutal deaths at hands of 65 yr old Dalit (Mahar) Bhimrao Kamble Bhimrao lured her, dragged her into a cowshed, stuffed her mouth with cow dung so she cud not screen, brutally raped her, smashed her tiny head with a stone, cut her into pieces and then buried her body under cow dung like trash. This is not a random crime. This is a hate crime. It’s a brutal “hisab chukta” in Ambedkar loving Maharashtra under BJPee rule.

This hotel is located on the Bangalore-Shivamogga National Highway, in the middle of Nittur and Gubbi, and is called Vasudeva Adigas. All KSRTC buses stop here for lunch. However, if you use Google Pay, you will be paid to Ahmed Latif Khooba. All the people in the hotel are Muslims. I asked him if you are from Adiga. He said yes. What does that mean? He doesn't know I asked him first if there was non-veg, and he said, "Go there." This is like cheating by using a Hindu name. What do Vasudeva Adigas say about this? The people of Nittur Gubbi should inquire about it. If we inquire, a case can be filed against us as communalists; the police should inquire about this and take action. Hundreds of such hotels have been coming up on the national highway for the past 2-3 years. #FoodJihad - @Mahaveer_VJ · May 3, 2026

In United States, students who succeed on merit are rewarded with: • National Merit Scholarship Program • Research opportunities • Admission to top universities like MIT, Stanford or Harvard Universities. • High-paying job offers from companies like Google and Microsoft Meanwhile in India - - Merit my foot - Merit is casteism - Merit is privilege - Merit has a narrow concept That's the Irony.

Totally false equivalence. @svembu US affirmative action was never about quotas - Bakke killed those in 1978. It was a “plus factor.” SFFA ended even that in 2023. Merit was still the main criteria. In India, the bar itself is lowered by birth. EG - JEE Main qualifying: General 93rd percentile, SC 61st, ST 48th. NEET: 50th vs 40th. Two vastly different benchmarks for the same seat. That’s stupidity. Affirmative action is not double standards. Worse, not just admissions in education institutions, it’s carried forward for jobs, promotions and postings. Heck even for some tenders now. At Zoho you succeeded by escaping the reservation system, not because of it. Yes investment is the real answer, but then defending a policy that punishes merit doesn’t make you sound very smart dude.
Sridhar Vembu@svembu

This topic of reservation comes up often in these threads. People don't seem to realise that American universities have had strong Affirmative Action and Asian American kids (including Indian American kids) need far higher grades and test scores to get into top Universities. This is absolutely true in California even now - even though the law prohibits it and the Universities will deny it! On the other side, Zoho has thrived in Tamil Nadu and both AIADMK (MGR initiated the massive increase in reservation quota in early 1980s in higher education) and DMK have long maintained the same reservation policy here. It is a political non-issue in Tamil Nadu. Zoho has benefited from and has in turn benefited all the communities in Tamil Nadu. When private sector investment is strong (as has been the case in Tamil Nadu) reservation policy in education can help to create a bigger talent pool. When private sector investment is low, society becomes a zero sum game. This is why we must work to boost private sector investment in a big way, rather than fight about reservation. I repeat: Universities in California have very strong Affirmative Action programs too. And California also has had strong private sector investment.

With due respect @svembu ji, There's a difference between Affirmative action & reservation. Reservation (fixed quota) is an extreme form of AA, not really practiced by most countries. FYI, USA banned "fixed quota" in 1978 because it was considered "unconstitutional". Fact is USA started Affirmative actions in 1961. Fixed quota was banned in 1978. AA in universities was also ended in 2023. So reservation was stopped within 17 years of start, AA were stopped in 62 years. But in India, reservation is being increased & increased, even after 70+ yrs. Merit is being sidelined more & more. How is this going to take the country forward??

The Affirmative Action is not a quota system and it’s not mandatory state system like Indian reservation system. Many states have race blind admissions since the late 90s. Not even the private schools are using affirmative action now in the US. So don’t make false equivalence with reservation system. Reservation system is a state mandated quota system. That was never the case in the US- America hates quotas!

🚨#BREAKING: The actor who ended up playing Joe Biden's body double for nearly two years will turn state's evidence to avoid jail time, according to sources close to the FBI's investigation. "The suspect was hired to stand in one place for ten minutes," said a Special Agent. "That's how it began." Before he knew it, the subject was sitting behind the Resolute Desk and taking calls from foreign leaders. "A birthday party impressionist ended up the leader of the free world, if only for a few minutes here and there." Dozens of West Wing staffers were complicit in pulling off the ruse. "The whole building had to be in on it." FOLLOW ME, THE NEXT DROP WILL BE SHOCKING.

It's all economics. Lenskart cannot respect your bindi. Not because they hate you. Because they literally cannot afford to. Let me show you exactly why. Peyush Bansal tweeted: "We are proudly built in Bharat, for Indians." Beautiful line. Terrible lie. Start with the factory. Lenskart's India plant opened in 2023. Before that, China joint venture. That JV still runs today. Frames. Raw materials. Supply chain. All from China. Indian factory mostly assemble. Now look at who owns this "Bharatiya" company. Peyush Bansal: 10.28% Neha Bansal: 7.74% Amit Chaudhary: 0.98% Sumeet Kapahi: 0.96% All four founders combined: 20%. The remaining 80%? SoftBank: Japan. Temasek: Singapore. ADIA: Abu Dhabi. KKR: New York. Fidelity: Boston. Now here is what nobody tells you. Every foreign investor runs ESG compliance. Before writing a cheque. ESG = Environmental, Social, Governance. A scoring system that has nothing to do with Environment. Built in New York and Amsterdam. It decides who gets capital. Inside ESG lives another animal. Called DEI. Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. DEI was designed in America. Built on American horrors. Black minorities. Gender wars. LGBTQ rights. Never designed for India. Does not understand India. Here is what DEI scores as "positive": Hijab at work = Positive signal. Turban at work = Positive signal. Here is what DEI marks as risk: Bindi = Majority religion marker. Tilak = Majority religion. Kalawa = Majority religion. In Western DEI logic, The majority is the oppressor. Majority does not need protection. So when Lenskart's HR writes a grooming policy, They are not writing for you. They write for their colonial masters. Because Lenskart is chasing a $10 billion IPO. Does your bindi sit anywhere in that number? Their first customer is not you. Their first customer is SoftBank. Their first customer is ADIA. Their first customer is an ESG agency in Amsterdam. You buy one pair of glasses. They invest $500 million. Do the math on who Lenskart listens to. Now the government. You think they don't know? They know everything. Every ministry understands how foreign capital erases civilizational identity. SEBI approved the DRHP. Not one clause protecting Hindu identity. Because the government also wants the IPO. GST. Tax. Economic headline. Your kalawa / kada is not in that equation. This is not a Lenskart problem. This is every unicorn in India. Swiggy. Zomato. Ola. Meesho. Zepto. Check their cap tables. Check the ESG reports. Check the grooming policies in their HR folders. Every company 60-80% owned by foreign capital is a branch office of Western values. "Built in Bharat" is a tagline. "For Indians" is a marketing campaign. The policy document tells you who they serve. Your Bindi. Your Kalawa. Your Kada. Your 5,000 years. Irrelevant to billionaires chasing an IPO. But minority appeasement? That scores points in Amsterdam. And we call ourselves an Independent Nation. . . . `Its all economics.`
