Many are asking why I am saying "processing December 2024 payrolls should be some good fun" yet a provision like Affordable Housing Levy & Social Health Insurance Fund contribution being allowable deductions is a welcome move. I don't think it's that straightforward. In my understanding, the Dec 27th effective date means payrolls must be processed on a prorated basis. For the first 26 days of December 2024, the provisions of the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act aren't applicable, they only kick in & apply for the last 4 days. So I don't expect to enjoy SHIF & AHL as allowable deductions for the entire of December, just the period 27th through 31st. I am however expecting a notice from @KRACorporate to guide us on the way forward.
