Peter Obi’s One Term I am in support of Peter Obi’s one-term commitment. And he means it. Political discourse in Nigeria could be very silly. Many people are attacking @PeterObi for saying he will do only one term. They think it is either untruthful or foolish. But they are wrong. First, you are only elected for a 4year single term. In a real democracy, there is no guarantee you would be reelected. So, you have just 4 years to deliver your electoral process. 4 yrs should be enough to deliver what you promised the nation. That is what they voted. Some say “oh you cannot change Nigeria in 4 yrs”. By the same breath, you cannot change Nigeria in 8 yrs. So you should remain beyond 8 yrs? Did OBJ change Nigeria in 8yrs? Did Buhari change Nigeria in 8yrs. Actually, Buhari further endangered Nigeria in 8 yrs. GEJ accomplished more in one term than Buhari in 8yrs. Again, some say “Peter is cheating Igbos who deserve 8yrs”. Well, in normal times, yes we need 8 yrs. But what did 8yrs buy for katsina and northwest? What exactly? Longevity is not the point. Intensity is. I am part of Igbo leadership. Our people want the presidency more for its psychological value. We are equal citizens. One terms achieves that. The rest is for Nigeria. Real development in the southeast rests on governors who can deliver transformation. That is why I will run for governor late in 2027. And if Obi’s plan to hand over to Kwankwanso works as sketched, Nigeria will be on tract to a sustained 8 or 16 yrs of economic growth and social stabilization. And we would achieve in a democracy what many Asian countries achieved in a dictatorship. Never forget that politics is the art of the possible, not the science of the possible. It is POssible.

You don't sound practically stupid, but your reasoning is dumb without a balanced or fully rigorous analysis .Dismissing Peter Obi entirely as "overrated" with "no major signature project": This is the weakest, most hyperbolic claim. PERER OBI has a documented

If Nigeria is left with only PO and BAT as the two options for the presidency, I will choose BAT 100%. This is not about “the devil you know and the angel you don’t know” I know both of them politically, and I know their records. BAT has proven leadership capacity from his days as Governor of Lagos State and as the architect of ACN, where he built and mentored political structures that are still standing today. Love him or hate him, his political influence and leadership results are visible. Peter Obi, on the other hand, remains one of the most overrated politicians in modern Nigerian politics. Back in 2022, I openly said that if anyone could point me to one major signature project from his time as Governor of Anambra State, or show me people he personally mentored and built into public service or national politics, I would delete this account , and I still stand by that statement today. Till now, nobody has been able to present anything convincing beyond media hype, emotional blackmail, and empty promises packaged as “good governance.” But if you ask me to mention Atiku Abubakar’s achievements, both as Vice President and as a private citizen, I can do that confidently and without hesitation. Thank you

Desmond Elliot crying over the rigging of the APC primary is hilarious. Is he saying he doesn’t know that rigging got him into the same House of Assembly?

It is just that Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso appears more strategic and more accommodating than Peter Obi. You can already see it in the way he immediately opened his doors to welcome Peter’s people, using them to expand his political structure and influence. That is the difference between politics driven by structure and politics driven mainly by popularity.
Sulaiman Uwaisu Idris@KafinHausaa

“Our man” Kwankwaso is no longer pretending. All he cares about is selling his red ideology to Southerners. Sharp sharp, no delay. Better cash out for my Kano NDC friends while the market still dey hot.

Nigerian politics is very crazy and quite slippery. During the primaries, a House of Reps member from Kano, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa was accused of taking rohypnol after a blue colouration was observed in his tongue. You know, Doguwa is staunch Muslim likewise his supporters, and under Islam; drug abuse is haram. Such accusations are just capable of damaging his political career. Today, he's back in the media, explaining to Nigerians the source of the blue colouration in his tongue. According to him, it is not Rohypnol but just blue candy.

Here is the judgement from the Federal High Court, no 6 is encompassing: 1. INEC can only monitor 2027 primaries but cannot fix timetable for when a political party should conduct its primaries for this election 2. INEC cannot give a shorter timeframe or abridge the period in which a political party can provide information of their candidates for 2027 election 3. INEC cannot give a shorter timeframe to political parties as regards withdrawal or replacement of candidates (Placeholders) 4. INEC cannot publish any final list of candidates for 2027 elections before 60 days to election. 5. INEC cannot fix 2027 campaigns to end 2 days to elections. 6. This is AN ORDER nullifying and setting aside the timeframes imposed by INEC for 2027 General Election for: - the conduct of primary elections by political parties for the 2027 general elections - the submission of personal particulars of candidates by their political parties for the 2027 general elections - the withdrawal and replacement of candidates by political parties - the publication of the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections and campaigning. This would be a game changer.

The FCT High Court just gave a massive court judgement to the Youth Party. This judgement if not appealed will be a big game changer in the coming weeks towards the election. They have effectively rendered INEC’s membership timeline void. This means that even those who lost their seats can still defect to other political parties and contest elections under a new platform. Let’s see how this plays out.
