I’ve been financially poor & financially affluent and trust me when I say that both situations present tough challenges. The fact that they are different is not an opportunity to compete for toughest. Rather they are an opportunity to empathize & learn wisdom about being alive.

A partner that is a selfish resentful partner when they are asked to be a partner & temporary caregiver is truly no partner at all. A partner that wants a life journey to be only about collecting pleasurable experiences & only giving only on non-challenging terms is shallow.

I must say it is sad how many otherwise privileged & beautiful people diminish their opportunity for love because they do not want the personal accountability that accompanies real intimacy. It is such a shame because they will never know what their missing.

Within our country we have to draw clear incorruptible distinctions between political discussions & political debate for the purpose of furthering opposing agendas via public rhetorical battle.

My approach to political discussions between myself & my fellow country men is to grant that the person I am speaking to means well & will have something to teach me even if it’s just their very different perspective on whatever issues. When did granting good will become radical?
