@ubasanius The massive turnout and infectious enthusiasm of the Ekiti people clearly showed their strong confidence in Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s leadership and their desire for continued progress and stability in Ekiti State.
As National Chairman of the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council, I was deeply honoured to stand in solidarity with the discerning and steadfast people of Ekiti State at the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial campaign in Ado-Ekiti. The occasion transcended its ceremonial significance; it was, in essence, a compelling affirmation of collective purpose, marked by an unmistakable spirit of unity and an abiding faith in the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. The remarkable turnout and the sincerity of public engagement offered a clear testament to a people resolute in their commitment to continuity, stability, and enduring progress.
Earlier in the day, I had the privilege of inaugurating a free medical outreach thoughtfully convened by members of the National Assembly from Ekiti State in honour of the Governor. This initiative, both humane and strategic, exemplifies a governance ethos grounded in empathy, collaboration, and measurable impact. It reflects a leadership model that not only prioritises the welfare of citizens but also galvanises institutions toward shared developmental goals.
Today, I joined our family and sympathizers in Kaduna for the funeral prayer of my beloved cousin, Alh. Bashir Yusha’u (Maiwada). His passing is a painful loss to us all. He was more than a cousin, he was a brother and confidant, remembered for his kindness, humility, and unwavering support for family and community.
I pray Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannah Firdaus, and give us the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.
@ubasanius This kind of pragmatic, investor-focused approach is what Nigeria needs — shifting from complaints to coordinated action. Kudos to the governors for thinking regionally. May the deals translate into tangible light and development for our people.

“UBA SANI AND THE NORTH WEST’s ELECTRICITY RENAISSANCE” By Ali Usman
At a time when Nigeria’s electricity discourse is too often defined by deficits, disruptions, and deferred hopes, a new and quietly transformative narrative is taking root in the North-West. It is a narrative shaped not by lamentation, but by leadership; not by dependence, but by design. At its centre stands Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State, whose emerging stewardship of subnational energy reform is fast redefining both the possibilities and the pathways for sustainable electricity supply in Nigeria.
For decades, the North-West; comprising Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States within the Kaduna Electric franchise, has borne the weight of an energy system stretched beyond its limits. The national grid, long the singular conduit of electricity supply, has struggled to meet the demands of a region marked by vast geography, dispersed populations, and rising industrial aspirations. In this context, Kaduna Electric, the Distribution Company serving the zone, has operated under immense strain; tasked with delivering power across a complex network while contending with upstream constraints, aging infrastructure, and systemic inefficiencies.
Yet history, however burdensome, does not dictate destiny. The passage of the Electricity Act 2023 has altered the architecture of Nigeria’s power sector in ways both profound and practical. By devolving authority to the states; granting them the power to generate, transmit, distribute, and regulate electricity within their jurisdictions, the Act has opened a new frontier of possibility. It has, in effect, shifted the locus of responsibility from the centre to the periphery, inviting states to become active architects of their own energy futures.
Gov. Uba Sani has embraced this invitation with uncommon clarity and resolve. His participation in the Kaduna Electric Franchise Area Energy & Investment Summit in London on April 1 was not merely symbolic; it was strategic. Convened under the theme “Driving Energy Investment and Regional Development,” the summit brought together a constellation of stakeholders: investors, development partners, and sector experts, at a moment when Nigeria’s electricity reform must transition from aspiration to execution.
Alongside Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara and Gov Nasiru Idris of Kebbi, as well as the Deputy Governor of Sokoto, Idris Muhammad Gobir, Governor Sani articulated a vision that is at once regional and pragmatic. Energy security, he argued, must no longer be conceived as a fragmented pursuit, but as a coordinated enterprise. The states within the Kaduna Electric franchise are bound not only by shared infrastructure, but by intertwined economic destinies. Their industries, markets, and communities are interconnected; their energy futures must be as well.
This emphasis on regional coherence is perhaps the most compelling feature of the current reform effort. For too long, electricity policy in Nigeria has been shaped by centralised assumptions that overlook local realities. The result has been a system that is simultaneously overstretched and underperforming. By contrast, the emerging model in the North-West recognises that effective electricity markets must be grounded in context: responsive to local demand patterns, aligned with regional economic priorities, and structured to attract investment at scale.
Central to this effort is the revitalisation of Kaduna Electric itself. As the primary distribution interface between the grid and end users, the company occupies a pivotal position in the electricity value chain. Its franchise spans major urban centres such as Kaduna, Zaria, Sokoto, and Gusau, as well as rural communities where access remains uneven. The challenges it faces; technical losses, metering deficits, and revenue constraints, are emblematic of broader sectoral issues. Yet they also represent opportunities for targeted intervention and transformation.

A STATEMAN AT 74: CELEBRATING A LIFE OF COURAGE, REFORM AND NATIONAL RENEWAL
Today, we celebrate the enduring legacy of a man whose life has been defined by courage, conviction, and an unyielding commitment to the progress of Nigeria. As His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, marks his 74th birthday, I join millions of Nigerians and admirers across the world in paying tribute to an extraordinary leader, a servant of the people, and a reformer of global stature.
For decades, President Tinubu stood at the forefront of Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle. From the trenches of resistance, he aligned with civil society organisations, labour unions, journalists, academics, and student movements in a sustained and principled assault against military rule. That collective struggle, to which he gave so much of himself, culminated in the historic restoration of democratic governance in 1999. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s role in that defining chapter of our national journey remains indelible.
In the years that followed, His Excellency, President Tinubu distinguished himself not only as a democrat of note but as a master strategist in political organisation and coalition-building. His pivotal role in forging the alliance that birthed the All Progressives Congress (APC) reshaped Nigeria’s political landscape. It led to a watershed moment in 2015 when, for the first time in our history, an incumbent administration was peacefully defeated at the polls; an achievement that further deepened democratic practice in our country.
In 2023, history called upon him once again. A man long regarded as a central force in Nigerian politics assumed the highest office in the land. Yet, rather than rest on reputation, President Tinubu has governed with clarity of purpose and a willingness to take difficult but necessary decisions in the national interest.
His administration has embarked on bold and far-reaching reforms that are already repositioning Nigeria on a stronger and more sustainable footing. The removal of the long-standing fuel subsidy, a policy that had become economically unsustainable and deeply distortive, signaled a decisive break with the past. Equally significant is the unification of the foreign exchange market, which has restored greater transparency, improved investor confidence, and set the stage for long-term economic stability.
These reforms, though demanding in the immediate term, have begun to unlock critical resources for national development. Across the country, we are witnessing renewed investments in infrastructure, including landmark projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the 375 km Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road rehabilitation and up-grade project and the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway. These initiatives are not merely roads; they are economic corridors designed to stimulate commerce, connect communities, and expand opportunity.
Your Excellency’s Renewed Hope Agenda has since rejuvenated Agriculture and Agri-business across the country; the health sector across the country has been bolstered with huge investments and increased personnel; and in the social sector, the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) reflects a deep sensitivity to the aspirations of young Nigerians. By expanding access to tertiary education, this initiative is investing in the nation’s future and empowering a new generation to contribute meaningfully to national development.

On behalf of the Government and people of Kaduna State, I extend my deepest condolences to His Excellency, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and the entire El-Rufai family on the passing of their beloved mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.
Hajiya Umma El-Rufai was not only a devoted mother and matriarch, but also a woman of rare grace, moral clarity, and quiet strength. She lived a life defined by compassion, humility, and steadfast service, extending kindness to the vulnerable and dignity to all who crossed her path. In her community, she was a steady source of counsel and reconciliation, nurturing unity and embodying the enduring values of faith, patience, and generosity.
In this hour of grief, I stand in solemn solidarity with the El-Rufai family, praying that Almighty Allah will forgive her shortcomings, accept her righteous deeds, and grant her eternal repose in Aljannatul Firdaus. May He comfort the bereaved and grant them fortitude to endure this profound loss. Ameen.
Senator Uba Sani, CON
Governor, Kaduna State
@yunusxonline@ubasanius Congratulations on this success your excellency and I fully align with your call for deepened unity and continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Following the successful conclusion of the APC North-West Zonal Congress and Election in Kaduna, that I had the honour to host, I am deeply encouraged by the spirit of unity, discipline, and democratic responsibility displayed by delegates and stakeholders across the zone.
The auspicious gathering stands as a clear affirmation of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a party rooted in inclusion, strengthened by grassroots participation, and guided by transparency and fairness. The orderly conduct and credible outcomes of the Congress reflect not only the institutional maturity of our Party, but also a shared commitment to consolidating its internal cohesion and democratic integrity.
I extend my sincere appreciation to my brother governors, distinguished party leaders, and delegates whose presence and contributions enriched the process. I also warmly welcome Governors Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and Dauda Dare Lawal of Zamfara State into our fold. Their alignment with our Party underscores a growing consensus around our shared vision and further reinforces the strategic importance of the North-West within the national political landscape.
We remain steadfast in our support for our great Leader, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and his Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to advance bold reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening institutions, and laying the foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth.
As we move forward, we must build on this momentum: deepening unity, sustaining discipline, and working collectively toward a stronger Party and a more prosperous Nigeria.

@Abuja_Facts This is scary escalation 😳 VIO officers have a bad rep for harassing people and extorting drivers, but not all of them are bad—many just do their job properly. Pulling a gun is never the answer though. We really need better professionalism from these agencies and less thuggery.

EID EL-FITR: “A RENEWAL OF FAITH, A REAFFIRMATION OF UNITY, AND A CALL TO HIGHER PURPOSE”
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
I extend my warmest felicitations and heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Kaduna State, across Nigeria, and around the world, as we celebrate Eid el-Fitr, the blessed festival that marks the completion of the sacred month of Ramadan. With profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, we acknowledge His boundless mercy in granting us the strength, discipline, and spiritual awareness to observe the fast and partake in the deep blessings of this holy period.
Ramadan is far more than a ritual of abstinence; it is a sacred journey of inner renewal. It calls us to a higher consciousness; one rooted in humility, restraint, and devotion. Through fasting, prayer, charity, and reflection, we are reminded of our accountability to Allah and our responsibility to one another. The Qur’an teaches that fasting is prescribed so that we may attain righteousness. Thus, the true essence of Ramadan lies not merely in its observance, but in the transformation it inspires within us: the purification of the heart, the discipline of the self, and the elevation of our moral conduct.
Over the past month, we have sought to embody the enduring virtues of patience, compassion, generosity, and humility. We have experienced hunger and thirst, not only as acts of devotion, but as reminders of the struggles faced by the less privileged among us. We have given in charity, extended kindness to neighbours, and renewed our commitment to justice and mercy. As we celebrate Eid today, we must ensure that these virtues do not recede into memory but remain alive in our daily lives, shaping our actions and guiding our relationships.
This year’s Ramadan carries a unique and powerful symbolism. It coincided with the Christian season of Lent, a rare convergence that underscores the shared spiritual values of sacrifice, repentance, and devotion among people of faith. While Muslims mark the completion of Ramadan with joy and thanksgiving, our Christian brothers and sisters continue their solemn observance. This moment offers a profound opportunity to deepen interfaith understanding, strengthen mutual respect, and reaffirm our commitment to peaceful coexistence.
Kaduna State stands as a testament to the beauty and complexity of diversity. Ours is a land where different cultures, traditions, and religions meet and interact. This diversity must not be a source of division, but a foundation for unity. It calls upon us to embrace tolerance, uphold justice, and work collectively for the common good. Eid el-Fitr, therefore, is not merely a celebration; it is a moment of reflection and renewal; a call to strengthen the bonds that unite us and to build a society anchored in peace and harmony.
The teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW (Peace Be Upon Him) remind us that the best among us are those who are most beneficial to others. This timeless guidance compels us to extend the spirit of Ramadan beyond personal devotion into the broader sphere of social responsibility. Our compassion must transcend boundaries, and our actions must reflect a sincere commitment to the welfare of all members of society. When we uphold integrity, fairness, and respect, we lay the foundation for enduring peace and collective progress.
These values continue to guide our administration in Kaduna State. We recognise leadership as a sacred trust; one that demands accountability, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of our people. Since assuming office, we have prioritised the restoration of peace and security, working closely with security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to ensure that our citizens can live and work in safety and dignity.
