The IDF killed a baby and you are screaming blood libel? Toxic level main charachter syndrome.
Richard Millett@RichMillett

Astonishing @thetimes blood libel headline. These people obviously don’t care about British Jews whatsoever. We’re dead.

@arielstulberg I think you underestimate how toxic Israel is rn. It would not be hard to isolate; sanctions, international trade embargo, etc. if the public and political will is there. And if Iran gets nukes... the entire calculus changes. Not likely but also not impossible.

@OctaveFilms Imo that's wishful thinking with no basis. Israelis are much stronger and more secure today than at any time in the past. Israel holding Syrian and Lebanese territory. They have nuclear weapons. The UN's dying. Only the US matters, and they wouldn't die without it. Smh.

@OctaveFilms 15 more years along the current trajectory and I fear greater ethnic cleansing than up to now, and/or institutionalized, open apartheid. Why exactly is peace bad?

@arielstulberg A two state solution was never viable. To see your Homeland occupied by foreigners who have stolen your birthright? As long as they breathe they will never capitulate. Until all Palestinians are neutralized, Israel will never know peace. That's the tradeoff.

@OctaveFilms Their life in fear hasn't made them surrender. It's made them armor up and empower the most bloody-minded fanatical racists among them, resulting in this atrocity in Gaza and the settler campaign in the West Bank. Please tell me, when does the good part start?

@arielstulberg Based on personal observations 10/7 brought international attention to the Palestinian plight. People who never thought to scratch a few layers down now have a new narrative of Israel bad Palestine Good. No idea how that plays out but Americans have abandoned Israel

@OctaveFilms What have the last 15 years of heroic resistance accomplished? You gave me a hard time for not answering your questions three. Maybe I'm older than you. I remember 15 years ago just fine. I was hopeful, and oh lord how badly things have gone. Second intafadah: great thing?

@arielstulberg There is little to no international sympathy for the Israeli government. Israel is an international pariah. Talk to Gen Z and Millenials. Thats the future for israel.

@OctaveFilms That's what the series of wars was about. There's no hope of removing Israel by force. Ongoing resistance has, I think, had just one important effect: It's helped Israel's militarists defeat Israel's peaceniks while fostering international sympathy for the Israeli government

@arielstulberg Do you think terrorism can ever be a legitimate political strategy?

Ariel Stulberg@arielstulberg·
@OctaveFilms It's not like they're the first people to have a legitimate grievance against their enemies man. We call targetting civilians illegitimate because we say it has no bearing on the outcome of the armed conflict. It's just gratuitous widow-making to no constructive purpose.

@arielstulberg You can't answer "Is it working" without asking "What are our objectives"

@OctaveFilms Instead of asking, of terrorism, is "is it just?" Ask, "is it helping? Is it likely to achieve anything constructive? Is it preferable to alternatives?" And, No! It's not. Sadat was right.

@arielstulberg That is why the war of public opinion is so extreme. Imagine an anti-Zionist, US president building an international coalition to strangle Israel economically until Israel accepts a Democratic one state solution. International public opinion is a bellweather.

@arielstulberg OK, Ill consider it. But can we both agree that Palestinians have a legitimate beef with Zionists such that the terrorism is understandable even if it is not acceptable?

@arielstulberg Yes, he perpetual fear is one strategy to break Israeli's psychologically. A friend has his Mom and Dad living in Tel Aviv and they are a wreck from years of living in fear. I don't think it will work either but what are their other options?

@OctaveFilms What would be the point instilling perpetual fear in Israelis? Revenge? How is that a worthy goal? No, I'm sorry, but you're fundamentally misunderstanding. The goal of terrorism is to break Israelis psychologically, so they'll leave like the French left Algeria. It won't work.

@whitacre107 @themoderateman9 @remarks Union soldiers got paid, dickless. And the dumbass art example is just an illustration that even when people die, their estate can still claim ownership of assets.

@arielstulberg Without US protection and given the shifting global sentiment, I'd be surprised if Israel, as an ethnostate, survives another 15 years. And if you or I were Palestinians, I would hope our goal would be reconquest as well.

@OctaveFilms Yes, peace is surrender. Please explain why surrendering when you've been defeated on the battlefield beyond all hope is dishonorable, and not preferable to taking up a paramilitary campaign of war crimes against civilians? Read Hamas's charter. The goal is reconquest.

@arielstulberg You know the answer then “Every native population in the world resists colonists as long as it has the slightest hope of being able to rid itself of the danger of being colonised.” “The Palestinians will resist actual settlers exactly as the Aztecs resisted the Spaniards...”
