I started out making YouTube videos back in 2007. I wish I never stopped.
I discovered Live Streaming and stopped making YouTube gaming videos because of how crazy addicting Live Streaming was. To be fair, switching at the time was getting more more Followers quicker on JustinTV than YouTube. JTV was far easier to get gaming followers although I feel like a snarky little b**ch saying that today since 2007 YouTube was open season for anyone to grow an audience. It's too bad I didn't know back then what I do today about brand building.
At some point Live Streaming became the bottle neck in platform growth for me. At some point no matter how much I would stream I wouldnt gain any more followers. I've been stuck at my follower count since 2019. Haven't seen growth since 2014. I have less followers on Twitch today than I did in 2014. Maybe 1,000 less.
Just hit 3,000 subscribers on my YouTube and it's funny because I can see this platform outperforming my Twitch in a couple years max because YouTube is totally possible to grow an audience out with still compared to Twitch which everyone knows has no discoverability. So it's kinda nice sitting here making YouTube videos again after being unable to tolerate the editing process after becoming severely addicted to Live Streaming. I'm hoping for more positive announcements regarding my YouTube channels growth in the distant future.
Thanks for reading.
