The RBI is in a corner. Defend the rupee → burn forex reserves. Already spent $37 billion since February. Cut rates to support growth → rupee weakens further, imported inflation rises, FII outflows accelerate. Raise rates → choke a domestic economy already facing $107 crude. Do nothing → rupee slides toward 100. Every option has a cost. The issue is that policy waited until all four options were bad before choosing. At 88, they had room. At 97, they don't.

What we want What we got from Italy from Italy

On 13 May, a municipal corporation bulldozer reached Hanif Khan's house in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. It razed his house to the ground. Why was Hanif's house bulldozed? Bulldozer culture started as an outrageous means to punish a Muslim accused of a crime. But now we've reached a point where you don't even need to be an accused, being a muslim is apparently enough. Hanif had lent his house to AIMIM corporator Matin Patel, where he allegedly hosted Nida Khan. According to the police, Nida was arrested from this house, hence they marked it as Matin's property and decided to bulldoze it. After receiving a notice for three days, Hanif even challenged CSMC and sought 15 days to produce documents of legality. When the matter went to court, Municipality lawyer assured Hanif that his house won't be bulldozed until 19th May. Yet, officials paster another notice and the house was bulldozed on 13th May. How did CS Municipal Corportation suddenly realise that Hanif's house was illegal? And if the house was standing here since so many years, why couldn't they wait one more week for the documents? When all of this is over, we will study how bulldozer was used not only to raze buildings, but also India's constitutional democracy.
