I encourage all head teachers to relax & stop employing private teachers, just do wat u can Hon @BalaamBarugahar stated that schools such as Nkoma Secondary School in Mbale receive over 1.2 billion annually, he also noted that government allocates over 30 teaching staff & non teaching staff the reality on the ground is different, many schools are severely understaffed despite having large student populations, that’s is why PTAs have been forced to raise funds to hire additional teachers so learners can receive enough lessons, those PTA funded teachers also conduct preps, evening classes & weekend lessons, helping government schools compete with private schools however, if the directive is to stop employing private teachers & other non teaching staff then head teachers should simply comply, if a school has only 13 or 20 teachers available, let those teachers teach wat they can, if there are only 2 non teaching staff, let those 2 provide security, cook, clean & handle all other support services, incase u feel there is misuse of funds why don’t u bring auditors to do internal audits of schools & arrest corrupt head teachers instead of trying to lead to total collapse of schools after all, why should head teachers go against the directives of government officials? let the results speak for themselves in the coming years

I strongly recommend your actions however, as you visit these institutions, what are your takeaways apart from the misuse of money? Have you ever considered their working conditions, staffing levels in local government institutions whether they're at the required or understood the concept of complementing with privately hired staffs that government doesn't pay, and have you considered students enrollment to determine the number of staffs in those schools and also population of the catchment area of a Health facility vis-a-vis their capacity to serve them? Otherwise, we might end up burying some institutions we shouldn't have

On friday , I spent most of the day in Mbale City inspecting various government schools and other key public infrastructure. I was disappointed to find that some government-aided schools are still charging students school fees despite the clear Presidential directive prohibiting such charges. Accompanied by local leaders and security chiefs, we directed the immediate suspension of all unauthorized school fee collections. No student should be denied access to education because of illegal charges. The Government of Uganda already provides substantial funding to these schools. For example, Mbale Nkoma Secondary School receives over UGX 1.2 billion annually, while Mbale High School also receives slightly over UGX 1 billion each year to support its operations. Charging tuition in government-aided schools is prohibited. Every Ugandan child deserves the opportunity to access free education in government schools. Only approved external examination fees may be charged where applicable, while meal fees remain optional. Let us all work together to eliminate corruption at every level. Every shilling meant for our children’s education must serve its intended purpose. Some ones needs to inform Balam & Nameere that Buddo Jr school pays 1.9m yet it's, a government school, gayaza Junior 1.85 but it's a government primary school, me go senior school, kings College Buddo, Ntare school, Ndejje SS etc are all government schools. Find out the fees.

I attended a youth leadership program in Europe last year, and when I returned back to Uganda, the organisers sent me an appreciation message for fulfilling my promise of returning back home after the program 🤣 Apparently Uganda had been banned from that program for 5 years because the last participants disappeared in Europe and never even finished the program 😭
