THINGS YOU MOST LIKELY WILL NOT REGRET DOING Studying more. Drinking more water. Being more honest. Going to bed early. Meditating more. Quitting a job you absolutely hate. Being kind to a stranger. Taking a break when you need one. Looking after your body. Crying when you need to. Putting yourself first. Leaving your comfort zone. Hugging someone you love. Trying out new things. Telling your loved ones how much you care. Taking care of your mental health. Trusting your intuition.

I’m not a prophet of doom, but anytime any of my mentee is leaving Nigeria for the first time overseas, I always advise that they do not keep all their eggs in one basket- No such thing as 23kg- Food, other 23kg- Clothes. It’ll be depressing if any of the bags got missing & you can’t retrieve it for weeks, what’ll you be eating/wearing?. I always prefer it’s split, food & clothes in both. One day, I was proved right, one of the bags got missing, never retrieved till date, only compensation given, however, the other bag contain a mixture of clothes/foods. Sad situation but it’s what it’s. How on earth is a JJC expected to navigate the first few weeks in a new country with no clothes. NB- Till date, I adopt same method too.

I was in a queue at a POS stand in Lagos when a little boy, maybe 10 years old, walked up. He handed the agent ₦500 and said, “Aunty, help me send it to my mummy.” The agent asked, “Where is your mummy dey?” He replied, “Hospital.” Everyone went quiet. She asked again, “Why did you not go with her?” The boy looked down and said, “The doctor said they won’t touch her until we bring money.” Nobody spoke for a few seconds. Then the woman behind me stepped forward and said, “How much do they need?” Before you knew it, strangers started contributing. That day, I realised something: In Nigeria, people are struggling, but they still show up for one another.

This is when we did the cleanup at Eni Njoku hostel. If the management of UNN wants to act honestly they will accept that they are not living up to their responsibilities and fix up. All these bullying tactics will not work. No one will stop talking about it.

NNPC just completed a pipeline crossing under the River Niger and most Nigerians don’t understand how big this is. OB3 pipeline now unlocks 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day. Two billion. Every single day. That gas powers electricity, factories, industries. Nigeria has always had the gas. The problem was never supply it was moving it from where it’s produced to where it’s needed. This pipeline connects East to West. That bottleneck just got removed. They already did the AKK crossing last year. Now OB3. Two river Niger crossings back to back. The gas grid is actually coming together. The target is 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. Right now we’re nowhere close. But infrastructure like this is how you get there. No infrastructure no industrialization. Simple. This is the kind of news that should trend. Not because it’s exciting but because your light bill depends on it.

Palestinian Girl
Palestinian Girl@Palestinia12961·
I often asked myself how would I react if I face cruelty personally. I was lucky not to be tested like other Palestinians. Last week my little sister suffered an emergency and had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. We have no hospital in H2, so we need to go to H1 to receive treatment. During night time the soldiers rarely let Palestinians go through. Only in emergency, and it is up to the soldiers to decide. My father begged in Hebrew, we all cried, but to no avail. We had to go back and pray she survived the night. We went the next morning. We were lucky. Her appendix inflamed to the degree it almost exploded. She had to stay in the hospital for 3 days. She is ok now. But I am not. Something has changed in me. I still believe in peace and co existence, but my belief that all people are good at heart took a hit. 😞

The raffle deadline is midnight today—after that, registration closes and no more entries will be accepted. A big thank you to everyone who reposted our initial tweet, helping more people take part. We considered several ideas for selecting winners, especially since some doubted the transparency of the process. While we even thought about involving a celebrity to make the draw special, we ultimately decided to make it anything but #NigerianNavy70thAnniversary. So, my team and I turned to AI and developed a digital raffle system to ensure a fair, transparent, and unbiased selection—completely free of human interference through a secure, automated method. The process is in 3 stages: a. Data Processing: Every entry is carefully checked and organized to ensure accuracy. b. Automated Draw: Using a computer-based random system, winners are selected fairly across various locations. c. Verification & Reporting: Final results are compiled with comprehensive details, ensuring transparency and accountability. I will share the final list once the process is complete. Keep an eye out for updates on @NigerianNavy and here too. Stay tuned!

"I love the round leather game. But politics, nationalism, and patriotism have shaped how I engage with it. I confess: I feel a certain irritation, almost like being forced to swallow a bitter childhood medicine, whenever I hear Nigerians refer to European clubs as “our team.” They speak as if they own shares in these clubs. They argue, banter, and even bet with emotional intensity. Many have never stepped into Murtala Muhammed International Airport, let alone visited @wembleystadium, yet they speak of distant clubs with intimate familiarity. One is compelled to ask: what have we done to ourselves? Was this not the same country where Lagos would grind to a halt whenever Stationery Stores played? Where we celebrated legends like Haruna Ilerika , Teslim ‘Thunder’ Balogun, Emmanuel Okala , Segun Odegbami with relish and genuine pride? What happened to the spirit that made butchers in Ibadan tie down their cattle, shut their stalls, and travel en masse to follow IICC Shooting Stars to Algiers? Why has that passion evaporated for clubs like @Rangers_Intl @insurance_fc? When shall we hear ‘Up Hai Hai Tshi Tshi’ again?" Pls read @BabafemiOjudu's "We Cheer Europe. We Ignore Ourselves. At What Cost?" linkedin.com/pulse/we-cheer…

@ndekekwe No doubt, a lot of things are wrong with Nigeria. However, despite its imperfections, Nigeria got some things right and has given opportunities to those willing to grab it. Everyone that passed through a federal university actually had a free education. I'm grateful.

NIGERIA, I pause today to say thank you. Not because you are perfect, no nation is, but because in your imperfections, you still worked for me. In Secondary Technical School Ovim, in a village many would assume forgotten, you delivered a spectrum of education that shaped possibility. From Motor Vehicle Technology to Physics, from Chemistry to Woodwork, from Shorthand to Geography, from French (yes, French in a village school in Abia State) to Further Mathematics, you created optionality. You did not limit imagination. You expanded it. We had a great school with amazing teachers. Then came the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) experience. There, you did something profound. You did not just train engineers, you taught Philosophy to engineering students. The General Studies courses were foundation. And in the end, that philosophical foundation became one of the most enduring elements of my education. It taught how to think, not just what to build. The way you designed the program with subjects like “Engineer Turns Manager” opening exposures to managerial accounting and project management demonstrated a high level of program sequencing. You also made access possible. Tuition was already subsidized, but even more, you went further. When the Vice Chancellor released the list, University Scholars were exempted from fees. Just like that, you assisted. And before graduation, you opened doors. Jobs came months ahead of time. The system worked. For me. And I say THANKS. Nigeria, you gave me options. And even today, in many ways, you continue to bless. So, this is not a note of perfection. It is a note of gratitude. My prayer is simple: that you work for many others the same way you worked for me. That more young people, in villages and cities alike, will find doors opened, systems functional, and dreams enabled. And to all who have benefited from Nigeria, the call is clear: If it worked for you, work to make it work for others. When I invest in local companies, it is partly to feel I can help. When I traveled to more than 90 universities in Nigeria to run workshops, it is to feel that I can also help for it to work for others. My non-profit, African Institution of Technology, has served in more than 90 universities in Nigeria, helping to establish labs and systems tekedia.com/afrit-workshop… (photos). Because a nation rises not when it is perfect, but when those it has helped commit to making it work, for all. Let’s make Nigeria work for ALL.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote appeared on Channels TV and insisted that Nigeria needs to urgently invest in power infrastructure to achieve true economic independence. In layman terms, he's wailing about lack of electricity. You can be sure of one thing: both the Nigerian government and local investors won't do anything about this call. Then eventually Aliko Dangote will find his way around building power grids that guarantee 24/7 electricity to consumers. Suddenly, you will start seeing all sorts of patriots from Ministry of Power, NLC, TUC, DISCOS, GENCOs, NEPA, PHCN, Nitel, Mtel, Econet, PTF, Celtel and even APC, ADC and PDP coming on air to educate you on the dangers of a monopolist like Dangote! ~ Ibrahiym A. Most Naija born & bred will experience that painful first time they step into the UK or US and open their mouths thinking they speak “perfect English” only to be met with blank stares. Guy man/babe go repeat himself taya before others go fit hear wetin dem dey talk. Those moments can be soul destroying. Heartbreaking 💔 But if you look at this situation closely, you can't blame the average Nigerian for this. It's not our fault and definitely not down to our “accent.” The real crime is happening right in every classroom in Nigeria. Some people seem to have made it their life mission to destroy the standard of education in Nigeria and they’re starting with our children. Just look at this book being pushed into our nursery schools. Grammar? Zero. Sentence structure? Zero. Any moral lesson, any didactic value to build character? ZERO! Instead of sharpening young minds and preparing them for the world, this nonsense is deliberately dumbing down the next generation, watering down their language, confusing their thinking, and quietly planting seeds of mediocrity and vice. Is the author educating Nigerian kids or sabotaging them? This book has no business anywhere near Nigerian classrooms. It should be BANNED immediately, removed from every school shelf, every bookstore, every curriculum! #BanThisBook #FixNaijaEducation #SaveNigerianChildren

I am still wondering how we got to this point where when you have a reservation about a product, it is bad marketing, cybercrime and defamation. So I should use a bad product because I want to massage your ego? It is so sad that law enforcement are not even looking at the effects of all this that they are doing. Something like that bread issue, which was life threatening, the owner even has the mind to go to police for something they will first lock them up for making a dangerous product first. It is so failure a country we have made

@asemota "Enter politics" isn't compulsorily partisan politics. As you explained in your tweet, it's more about leveraging on relationships and how to deliver value to your network. Some comments are limiting it to just running for government office under APC to go eat "national cake".

“Someone” is too vague. 20-30 years old: Find a very good job in a place where you can get leverage to buy assets. Get married, save together. The other option is to start a business early but know that 99% of the time, it will die but the experience will be valuable. 30-40: Start thinking of starting a business from what you have learned. Find partners, mentors, funders. 40+ Enter politics. Seriously, after 40 wealth is more about connections than effort. This is the time you cash in on relationships built over time. Wealth is about relationships and compounding the benefits of those relationships. No matter how brilliant you are, nothing will bring you wealth if you don’t build relationships. Friends have always opened the doors for me and recommended me to rooms where I made money from.
