We’ve all waited over 1000 days for the government’s response to the Murphy report. The PM has been dragged kicking and screaming to respond this report. Burying the response on the day of the federal Budget is the height of political cynicism. No Total Ban on Advertising, No Ban on Inducements and No National Regulator. To just "note" the recommendations from the Murphy Report shows @AlboMP doesn't care about gambling harm. Why did we have this inquiry if you were never going to use the recommendations from it??

Heartbreaking to read Kyle Hudson’s story. Sportsbet’s own systems reportedly raised repeated warnings about his gambling behaviour, yet at times allegedly did nothing while continuing to offer inducements. This is exactly why the Murphy Review called for a full gambling ad ban, a ban on inducements, and a regulator with real teeth. Today we’ll see the Government’s response. In the last year of my addiction, I took breaks over 15 times with @NedsAus. On each occasion back I was treated like a normal customer and was giving bonus bets. I clearly had a problem and they did nothing to intervene. Bonus Bets & other Inducements have to be banned @AlboMP

How much more proof do these clowns @albomp and @AnikaWells need to understand how much we need an independent, properly resourced National Regulator of this parasitic industry. The Murphy Report states how important it was. And these cowards are ignoring it.

Breaching BetStop rules more than 500 times and not facing a single dollar in fines shows how completely ineffective ACMA is as a gambling regulator and how hopeless our regulatory framework is.
