Why are the Astros bad at home?
Here's me theory. 🕵️♂️
The Astros are 63-22 in the regular season when they score first. When the opponent scores first, 26-50.
That's a huge disparity.
At home, Houston was 39-42. In those 42 losses the opponent scored first 32 times!
15 times at Minute Maid Park the other team scored in the first inning.
I don't think it's the batter's eye. I don't think it's the fans or players going to their homes.
I think it's the fact that the offense is not good when playing from behind, maybe they are pressing or panicking, who knows.
But when Houston is on the road they are able to start the game batting and in their 50 roads wins, 37 times they had the lead first.
🔥21 of those wins they scored in the first inning!!!🔥
I am hopeful with Altuve, Bregman and Yordan starting the game in Arlington, they can get on the board first and just relax at the plate.
Houston needs 4 wins. Can they steal 3 in Arlington?
FINAL: Rangers 5, Astros 4
Texas bent. And it bent some more. And even more. But it didn’t break. And on the strength of a four-run first inning, Nathan Eovaldi’s Houdini act out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam and Jose Leclerc’s four-out save, Texas goes home up 2-0 in the ALCS.
