Axis Bank refused to accept ₹3.19 crore during demonetisation. The customer had a KYC-compliant account. The bank still said no. A Delhi logistics company walked into Axis Bank in November 2016. Demonetisation had just been announced. The govt said — deposit your old ₹500 and ₹1000 notes in your bank accounts. Deadline: 30 December 2016. The company had ₹3.19 crore in cash. Account was KYC-compliant. Audited books. Everything clean. They went to the bank. Bank refused. They emailed. Bank refused again. They wrote to RBI. Filed a writ in the Supreme Court. Still — the bank said no. The deadline passed. ₹3.19 crore in cash became worthless paper overnight. The company took Axis Bank to the consumer forum. 8 years later, in March 2026, NCDRC ruled: The bank had no legal right to refuse. "If the transaction appeared suspicious, report it — you cannot just refuse a KYC-compliant account." Axis Bank ordered to pay ₹3.19 crore + 6% interest from December 2016. That's 9+ years of interest on top of the principal. The bank didn't protect you. The system took 8 years to fix what took 54 days to destroy. Save this post. Madurai, Tamil Nadu | Madurai District Court pronounced a sentence in the Sathankulam custodial death case. The case falls under the rarest of rare categories. All nine policemen get the death penalty. Advocate Jaba Singh, representing the victims, says, "The court has delivered a landmark judgment, awarding the death penalty to the accused from A1 to A9. The first accused (A1) has been ordered to pay a compensation of Rs 24 lakh. The second accused (A2) has been directed to pay Rs 16.30 lakh. In total, a compensation of Rs 1.40 crore must be paid to the mother of the deceased, Bennix. The court also stated that if the accused fails to pay the compensation, their properties will be confiscated and sold, and the amount will be given to the victim’s family"

Now, for doing exactly that, the same Mukesh Mohan has been hit with a massive ₹50 crore defamation suit — and an FIR slapped on top of it. The man has been dragged through Nagpur police stations for the last two days straight, running from one counter to another, while the authorities have already seized one of his phones. Let this sink in: The Caravan report was the original source that blew the lid off the beef business. Mukesh Mohan simply made a video based on that very report and credible sources. So tell me — how “justified” is it to file an FIR and slap a ₹50 crore defamation case on an influencer for simply speaking on a story that an award-winning magazine had already exposed? @MukeshMohannn

Jayaraj kept his mobile shop open past 9pm during lockdown. Police came. Took him away. His son Bennix heard about it and rushed to the station to check on his father. They let him in. Then locked the door. Both were stripped. Tied down on a wooden table. Beaten with lathis every 10 minutes through the night. Their blood splattered the walls. The next morning police took them to a doctor who gave them a fitness certificate. Then to a magistrate who remanded them to jail without even looking at them properly. Bennix died on June 22. Jayaraj died on June 23. Yesterday a court found all 9 police officers guilty of murder. It took 6 years. Sentencing is on March 30. The FIR said Jayaraj and Bennix rolled on the ground and used obscene language. CCTV from the shop next door showed nothing of that sort happened. The case against them was completely fabricated. They died for a crime they never committed.
