After speaking with Nigerians in Cape Town yesterday, I was able to have meaningful discussions this morning with three South African ministers and political party leaders regarding the ongoing challenges related to immigration, regional collaboration, and fostering peaceful coexistence between our nations. I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Leon Schreiber, the South African Minister of Home Affairs and a prominent figure in the Democratic Alliance; Mr Velenkosini Hlabisa, the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP); and Mr Gayton McKenzie, the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture and leader of the Patriotic Alliance (PA). Our conversations were productive and candid, focusing on the current challenges that affect both countries—particularly those related to migration, economic strains, youth unemployment, security issues, and the rising tensions faced by African foreigners in South Africa. I firmly believe that Nigeria and South Africa, both prominent African nations, must enhance dialogue, bolster cooperation, and seek solutions based on justice, mutual respect, and adherence to the rule of law. In challenging times, leaders and citizens alike need to demonstrate responsible leadership, compassion, and restraint. We collectively stressed the importance of law-abiding behaviour, avoiding violence, resisting hate or provocation, and allowing lawful institutions to address grievances through democratic and constitutional processes, regardless of the challenges we face. The progress of Africa hinges on our ability to create unity, foster economic inclusivity, invest in our communities, and uphold the dignity of every African, no matter where they live. -PO

Man complains bitterly about the poor 1.3 billion Naira Smart School Governor Peter Mbah built in his village. What kind of wickedness is this? Peter Mbah will be too terrible if he comes for second tenure.

Yesterday, May 19th, in Abuja, I attended the Presidential screening organised by our party, which took over two and a half hours. They carefully reviewed all my documents, including my degree certificates, NYSC credentials, and age declarations. During the process, I also addressed questions regarding my vision for a new Nigeria and the type of leadership our nation urgently needs right now. Following this, I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for. I would like to commend the screening committee, led by former governor Sam Egwu, for their thorough and professional approach. Additionally, I appreciate our party's leadership for upholding the democratic process. A New Nigeria is POssible. - PO

A Nation Losing Its HUMANITY. Some events shatter a society so deeply that words are no longer enough to express the shock; the brutal killing of a teacher and the horrific rape and murder of an elderly woman are among such tragedies. These are not isolated incidents but signs of deeper moral and social decay. How did we get here? How did we reach a point where teachers are hunted and killed, and the elderly—custodians of memory and wisdom—suffer such dehumanising violence? This is more than a security crisis; it is a failure of collective humanity. We have become desensitised, consuming tragedy briefly and moving on, allowing indifference to normalise the unacceptable. To the families affected, I share in your grief. But grief alone is not enough. We must demand accountability and urgent systemic change. If such atrocities no longer move us to action, then we risk losing our shared humanity. -PO

If there’s one collagen supplement I’d recommend to women in their 30s, it’s this one. I noticed a difference in 2 weeks. Less hair breakage=length retention. I also now have stronger nails. Before this, my nails were short and brittle. I'm on my 2nd pack already and look at my nails (all mine 😍). Let’s talk about your hair, skin & nails in 30days if you do buy it. This is NOT an AD—Just a girl looking out for other girls.

For the past week your father has been harassing my family and showing up at my Lagos residence unannounced, with threats about taking my away son, again. Now I get a call from the Lagos State Ministry of Justice Public defender, social services department that you filled, yet another false petition accusing my sister of forcefully taking my son from you, when in fact you left him on his sick bed unattended with no adult supervision, because “you went to the market” but filled such petition, even tho you know he was taken to our family hospital, treated and has been spending time with me? Just like you falsely accused my sister in London to the UK’s social services of trying to take our son from you too? Which was again disproved. You asked to spend time with him a few days to his birthday today at 9am on WhatsApp. I responded by 2pm today that he can be dropped off to you tomorrow if you can confirm if that works. But you were at the Lagos state ministry by 4pm filling a false petition, damm! My boy is not even officially British yet, I still have to give that to him in a few months, yet your family keeps trying to take advantage of him, first to emotionally blackmail me into giving in, then for your visa sake, and even now, wants to try and use him again, and again, and again! It’s okay for you to enjoy self-destruction, but dragging my boy to forcefully remain with you in Lagos and forfeit his life in the Uk and dual citizenship is a deep level of reckless wickedness for a child you claim to love, yet steady putting in harms way.

You called painter to paint your three bedroom flat. They told you a bucket of paint is ₦30,000 each So you sent ₦450,000 for 15 buckets of paint.. When they finished painting, you noticed they didn't used all the paints.. But to your surprise, when they were leaving, they packed the remaining paint inside their car and left... When you called, they told you the paint belongs to them cause they have delivered their work... And also, since you won't be needing it, they had to take it so it won't spoil.. What will you do next?? Leave them since you won't be needing it or what?? This matter is important..

State visits by Leaders are not tourism, and diplomacy is not a fashion parade. Every foreign trip undertaken by a government must deliver measurable benefits to the people, including investments, technology transfer, trade agreements, factory expansion, industrial partnerships, and job creation. During President Trump’s recent visit to China, the American delegation reportedly included a few top government officials, and many of the biggest figures in global business and technology: Consequently, huge trade deals worth several billion dollars including about 200 Boeing orders were achieved. The list of the entourage included 1. Donald J. Trump – President of the United States 2. Marco Rubio – Secretary of State 3. Pete Hegseth – Secretary of Defence 4. Elon Musk – CEO, Tesla & SpaceX 5. Jensen Huang – CEO, Nvidia 6. Tim Cook – CEO, Apple 7. Larry Fink – CEO, BlackRock 8. Stephen Schwarzman – CEO, Blackstone 9. Kelly Ortberg – CEO, Boeing 10. Brian Sikes – CEO, Cargill 11. Jane Fraser – CEO, Citigroup 12. Larry Culp – CEO, General Electric 13. David Solomon – CEO, Goldman Sachs 14. Sanjay Mehrotra – CEO, Micron Technology 15.Cristiano Amon – CEO, Qualcomm 16. Dina P. McCormick – President of Meta 17. Ryan McInerney – CEO, Visa 18. Michael Miebach – President, Mastercard 19. Jim Anderson – CEO, Coherent 20. Jacob Thaysen – CEO, Illumina That is how serious nations approach diplomacy, by aligning foreign policy with economic expansion, industrial growth, innovation, and national productivity. I hope that lessons can be learned from these recent visits comparing them with the President of Nigeria’s recent state visit to the United Kingdom. A large entourage of politicians, aides, and government officials travelled, yet Nigerians are still asking a simple question: what exactly did Nigeria bring home? Which factories are coming to Nigeria? What power, technology, manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial agreements were secured? How many direct jobs will this visit create for Nigerian youths? What investments were attracted? What measurable economic outcomes can the ordinary Nigerian point to? The delegation reportedly included: 1. President Bola Tinubu 2. Senator (Mrs) Tinubu 3.12 governors 4.9 ministers 5.7 members of the National Assembly 6. Over 20 senior State House staff 7. Over 30 security personnel 8. Over 10 domestic staff 9. Several supporters and associates It is not enough to ride horses, wear matching uniforms, attend royal banquets, and release glossy photographs. Symbolism without substance cannot feed hungry citizens. Today, Nigeria is in decline, battling serious insecurity, food insecurity, unemployment, a weakened naira, declining industrial productivity, and worsening poverty. At a time when millions of Nigerians struggle daily to afford food and survive economic hardship, every kobo spent on foreign trips must produce tangible national value: investments, factories, jobs, exports, infrastructure, and economic opportunities. Nigeria needs leadership that is focused less on optics and more on productivity; less on ceremony and more on measurable economic results. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Just so you know, this is not because the system is broken but because we never thought it was worth fixing. I have a B.Sc,Ed and a MEd from the Nigerian education system. I watched brilliant, committed people study curriculum theory, developmental psychology, pedagogy, and assessment for years, just to enter a profession that the same government treats like a fallback option for people who could not get in anywhere else. And now JAMB has formalized that disrespect. Ask yourself one question: would we ever do this for Medicine and Surgery? Would we say, “you know what, anyone who wants to be a doctor does not need to pass UTME?” Of course not. Because people would die, and we would see it. Dead body go surplus ba? Yeah. But here is the truth nobody wants to say out loud. The damage a poorly trained teacher does is just as lethal. It is only slower. It shows up twenty years later in citizens who cannot think critically, who are vulnerable to propaganda, who will collect N5,000 and vote against their own future, who will join a secret cult because nobody ever taught them their own dignity. You cannot separate the collapse of Nigerian civic life from the collapse of Nigerian teacher education. They are the same story. Finland did not become Finland by accident. Denmark did not become Denmark by accident. The countries we admire for their infrastructure, their rule of law, their social trust, their cleanliness, their decency, built those things first in classrooms, with teachers who were selected from the top of their graduating cohorts and paid and respected accordingly. Teaching in Finland is as competitive as Medicine. That is not a coincidence. Our leaders cannot see this because they are not building for a future they will not live to enjoy. They want to name senate buildings after themselves today like Mimiko did in Ondo State. They want to build stadiums and name it after themselves like Godswill Akpabio. Nobody gets a plaque for producing a generation of thoughtful citizens. Nobody cuts a ribbon for that. And so it does not get done. Also, prioritizing petroleum engineers and tech gurus give them the ammunition they need to continuously take advantage of our natural resources and fintech opportunities to make millions. But for teachers who raise viable citizens? Nah! No instant reward. This JAMB policy is not a mistake. It is a value statement. It tells you exactly what this system thinks of teachers, of education, of the human beings those teachers will spend their lives shaping. And until we are as outraged about that as we are about fuel prices or naira depreciation, we will keep producing the same country, and then wondering why nothing ever changes. Everyone at @JAMBHQ should be ashamed of themselves.
JAMB@JAMBHQ
