@FraudGnosis @HLC_actual I get the impulse of a lot of them, though, to say that every soldier should attempt to get 100% because they weren’t paid well enough and they took the best years of their lives, etc. Retirement should be better, but people act like disability is just rightful retirement pay.

Ok vets we all know Uncle Sam fucks our bodies and minds up. But this level of egregious welfare baby bullshit has gotta stop. This is a rare occurrence as most of us getting out are genuinely fucked up and just tell the truth to the doctors and accept what we get. When we see guys that were shot getting less “benefits” than dudes like this who literally never did anything something is wrong. This is a rare occurance but should be called out when it happens. Hold each other accountable.
Erich Hartmann@erichhartmann

Military Disability fraud is rampant, but for some reason is ignored, allowed… and even encouraged. This kind of obvious cheating ruins the system for those who actually need it: heroes who served our country honorably and were injured in the process.

@Nexxo00 @DangerousThinkg They didnt even give it up, it was taken away by endless “line go up” business and political decisions while the biggest way they made the line go up was by decoupling wages from rising ahead of inflation. It was taken by mergers and acquisitions turning companies to monopolies.

@DangerousThinkg "We gave up all this for credit cards?" No, you gave it up for financial independence in case your husband beats you or cheats on you, so you can pack your bags and fuck off and don't have to take his shit. And the freedom to become, say, a doctor if you wanted to be one.

@DangerousThinkg It’s not because of women’s lib, because that movement was always about giving women the choice to leave the kitchen, not requiring it. It’s because 70%+ of jobs now don’t pay enough to support an entire household on a single income.

@DangerousThinkg The big lie is that they gave it up and it wasn’t taken from them by greedy CEOs and a culture of profits over people in business. It’s not because women went to work or got voting rights or sexual liberation (maybe as a backlash), it’s because they decoupled wages from inflation

@EmeryEXP Certainly wouldn’t be as many vets who feel like they were owed as much as they do if they were actually compensated financially (and not just with benefits they may never really see or use) instead of feeling like everyone has to try and pry it out of disability claims.

@EmeryEXP People wouldn’t be happy with either. The system could surely use some changes to make some claims easier but others non-qualifying altogether. It’s not a one size fits all solution, certainly. Not to mention a lot of it would be resolved by higher base pay and retirement.

A new VA disability expert has entered the arena. If you are involved in an accident stateside and get injured to the point you cannot continue your career. 0%
Loop@Crazy_Cool_L

@DOGE_DOW Unless you get injured in battle, you shouldn’t get disability. Pretty simple. Got shot, stabbed, blown up - benefits. If not, none.

@EmeryEXP Especially since it would likely make it harder for even the most legitimate of cases, but as a taxpayer I don’t think I should be paying for someone’s car accident injuries if, and I’ll grant I don’t have their papers, that’s happening and given the system is human, it is.

@EmeryEXP Don’t deserve some compensation or that it doesn’t suck that that’s happening or that they don’t deserve it. I’m saying there are enough cases like the ones I’m pointing out are getting rated and connected. That doesn’t take away from the real shit, and I’m sure reform would suck

I’m telling you what the actual process and the actual rules are like. You have to prove service connection with accident reports and medical filings. Even just saying it happened on duty is usually not enough. I’ll give you an example from my case. I’m service connected from an accident during an airborne operation where I broke most of my shit. The VA acknowledged the symptoms of a TBI (migraines/vertigo/light sensitivity/ect), but because it was not expressly written down by my medic, has the TBI itself as “not service connected”. Even when obviously all the surrounding information would point to that. It’s a lot more difficult to get a rating than people think. Even with a verified incidents, combat codes, bla bla bla. I have a friend with literal shrapnel in his chest from a blast stateside and no rating because , again, improper reporting and not wanting to be a sick call ranger about it. I’m sure some people lie. They suck ass. But that’s not the norm.

@EmeryEXP @commondefense Not when you’re on leave, no, but let’s say you have an accident at home while you’re active duty, or in a car accident off base, as long as it’s not due to willful misconduct many of those are deemed to be service connected for some reason because they happen to be active duty.

@OhHelmNo @commondefense That’s not how that works. There is not 24/7 rule for service connection. You don’t get a VA claim for breaking your leg skiing on leave.

@EmeryEXP @commondefense It’s not even about witnessing it though, like I couldn’t go claim workers comp because my friend committed suicide at his home because I happened to be at work when I heard the news, even when many of these folks aren’t actually at work, they’re just considered to be 24/7.

Except you can get both workers comp and state disability for those conditions. There’s even a specific labor code in most states making it easier for first responders to qualify for ptsd and anxiety workers comp. Depending on the state there is also certain thresholds for day to day work stress. As in no qualifying event of witnessing a death or violent event is even required.

If you see your friend dealing with so much that they take their own life you get both. According to.. Kyle. Meanwhile similar circumstances exist in civilian workers compensation.

kyle@OhHelmNo

@commondefense Exactly it should be like workers comp and disability, not because you got anxiety and depression cause your battle buddy offed themselves basic, and anxiety and depression but you can still do work. Not you got so stressed for exams that you developed anxiety/panic disorder.

@EllaLisa15 @couldnotbebadia It doesn’t matter if she knew who it was the fact that she would send her guards over to confront a child and her dad over the child coming to seen if it was who she thought it was, smiling and then not bothering her at all is fucking diabolical no matter who the dad was.

i defended Chapell against the paps and the men bc they were weirdos and were doing too much but if not even a little girl can smile at her then she should retire from making music and touring. Nobody is forcing her to be famous, you don't gotta be rude to kids

@the_det_times Probably better than a lot of the teams that have passed them in the last few weeks when healthy but their only good center right now somehow can’t play a little injured in the most important games since he’s been a red wing.

@RobManess I think the issue is more that people don’t think certain things should qualify, but they actually do qualify if you can prove them. Not that they’re faking it.

Same here. Funny how suddenly the narrative has changed from “it’s almost impossible to get a rating” to “all these veterans are defrauding the tax payer” when the reality remains that it is very rigorous process to get a disability rating that’s made even more difficult by the unbending government employees running the place.
Donatello@Donatello_s3

@dmbkparker @RobManess I don’t know anyone fraudulently receiving VA benefits but I know lots of veterans with injuries from their service not receiving VA benefits.
