Oil and Gas Summit UG

Ongoing at the #OilAndGasSummitUG is the session on Driving Digitalisation across Uganda's energy industry. The panel is chaired by Francis Kamulegeya - Senior country Partner PwC. Today marks the second and final day of the Summit.

Session five panel discussion at the #OilAndGasSummitUG us underway. Topical discussion: Driving Digitalisation across Uganda's energy industry and this was chaired by Francis Kamulegeya the Senior country Partner @PwC

He said the oil and gas sector has become significantly attractive because of the following reasons among others: •Geological Promise: Technical data and information from the exploration efforts has confirmed a working petroleum system. #OilAndGasSummitUG

•Growing Market: The potential market for any petroleum produced in Uganda is mainly constituted by the growing petroleum products demands of Uganda, Northern Tanzania, Western Kenya, Southern Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda and Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. #OilAndGasSummitUG

•Good Infrastructure: The country has good and improving physical infrastructure network to support this sector. #OilAndGasSummitUG

•The East African Trade Facilitation Project has programmes for harmonizing customs administration & developing road infrastructure for smoother & faster business transactions including border crossings within East Africa. #OilAndGasSummitUG

Day 2, which is also the final day of the #OilAndGasSummitUG is already underway at the @kampalaserena hotel.

Among the key focuses of the #OilAndGasSummitUG is providing networking opportunities to all the players and stakeholders in Uganda's Oil gas industry. Networking breaks are as important as the panels.

$3.3 Billion have so far been spent on the Lake Albert project in the exploration phase. The estimated investment required to complete the project is $10Billion. #OilAndGasSummitUG
