@stevezieskidoo Yup, I would absolutely love to bring him back, but realistically, hell will freeze over before this organization publicly admits they made an error like that.

Best of luck to Knoblauch. Not the right coach for this team, but he was a big part of two fun playoff runs, and he seems to be a great guy by all accounts. Hope he finds success elsewhere.

@rockstar12901 Well the Jarry trade was. undoubtedly the biggest blunder from this org since Holloway/Broberg, and that wasn’t on Knoblauch

I don’t know if Knoblauch was perfect but he was certainly far from the biggest issue on this team Tough look for EDM the way everything unfolded

@labonjam5 The Frederic contract and the Jarry trade set this organization further back than anything Knob did

@GregMcAuthor It being a tough look and it being their fault aren’t the same thing. I’m not sure why things were different this time and it got leaked, so I can’t necessarily assign blame, but it’s unnecessary noise imo

I know everyone in Oil Country wants Bruce Cassidy but I've heard from people who work in the NHL that he's someone who typically wears out his welcome quite quickly. That's a risk, especially with only two more years of 97 guaranteed.

@PoolNuge3 I should've worded my tweet better, but he tends to rub off the wrong way on players. For all the flack Tortorella gets, he seems to be more of a "player's coach" than Cassidy. That said, maybe the Oilers NEED an abrasive coach. But it's a risk nonetheless

@OilerAlert He was with Boston for a long time. Started in providence as an assistant before becoming head coach, same with the bruins. Spent 15 years in the organization. Almost 4 full years with Vegas. The average tenure of an NHL coach is 2-3 years

@McjesusSaves I'm not necessarily opposed to that line of thinking but I'm also hesitant to go into McDavid's final years with a coach that's known to rub his players the wrong way
