UK State Visit Magnificently Put On, Tinubu Was Right Not To Cancel Despite Maiduguri Attack - Akinyemi
While what occurred in Maiduguri with the bombings was a disaster for Nigeria's image, it should be something we mourn, but you don't cancel a state visit at the last second. You cannot do that to Britain or the United States because of domestic issues in your country. I thank King Charles III for the show he put up. This was not just a signal to Nigerians that we are better than we think we are, but to the rest of the world.
Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, Nigeria's Former Minister of Foreign Affairs.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
PRESIDENT TINUBU FELICITATES MUSLIMS ON EID-EL-FITR, URGES RENEWED PATRIOTISM
As Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Muslim faithful in Nigeria, urging renewed commitment to the nation and humanity.
President Tinubu enjoined Nigerian Muslims to rededicate themselves to the noble teachings of the holy month, which emphasise piety, empathy, and unity among humanity.
"We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period," he said.
President Tinubu urged all Muslim faithful to extend a hand of kindness to the needy of all faiths, to further show unity and camaraderie.
The President also tasked Muslim leaders to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace and prosperity to prevail in the country.

Just saw 6 Nigerian Officers near my office enroute to Westminster. Three Army Officers, one Navy, one Airforce and one Policeman. All Senior Officers. Neatly kitted in ceremonial uniforms. I said hello and told them I was proud of their service. Support our Armed Forces💙.
@MasterBolaji Respect yourself..So all the trips to France and other countries did they not tell us that they secured huge investments? Did you see anything like that on ground? Infact ShopRite closed down in Nigeria and moved out so get serious.
Some people are sad about the president’s visit to the UK. That trip alone attracted about £763 million in investments to the country. Why be upset when your nation is drawing foreign investors? Are you a b@stard?
One can easily argue that Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, is a content creator. And you will not be wrong. All she does is tie gele and move from one owanbe to another. Or you'll see her following the President everywhere and anywhere. She's easily one of the most incompetent ministers we have. She's juggling between being the last or second-to-last.
In about 3 years, since her appointment, the ministry is struggling to find its footing; no policy direction, no clear cut agenda for our rich cultural heritage, and no documented course of purpose. The content creator posting as a Minister is yet another indication of the poor choices of President Tinubu. Of over 49 ministers, you will struggle to find 5 who are actually doing the job.
These Ministries are merely a waste of public funds. Monies are budgeted to run these offices without any significant achievements. There are some of the ministries you don't even hear anything about them, be it in the news or on social media. They are just existing to draw funds from our common patrimony. I could bet that most Nigerians don't even know the names of the majority of these Ministers and their ministries. If the President is serious, Hannatu and many like her should be sacked, forthwith. If the President doesn't, it gives credence to the fact that he's not ready for a Nigeria that will develop and thrive in all sectors.
@emmaikumeh We moved from Ojo maduekwe, Graham Douglas , Nweke , Edem Duke to this lady.. I believe the appointment was done because of her closeness with her fmr husband
@emmaikumeh Emma speak with facts, not assumptions. Your claims about @hanneymusawa are unfair and misleading. She has actively represented and promoted Nigeria’s creative sector locally and internationally. Kindly verify your information, withdraw those words, and seek forgiveness to uphold
After the royal optics yesterday, Bola Ahmed Tinubu now moves into hard negotiations with Keir Starmer and the private sector.
✓The UK wants post-Brexit markets.
✓Nigeria wants capital, infrastructure, and credibility.
On Wednesday night, Mr. Sunday Dare took center stage in Sky News’ London studio, speaking with News Anchor Yelda about the significance of President Tinubu’s state visit to the UK and the nation’s determined efforts to tackle terrorism head-on.
@kokomatic Level for delivering darkness and insecurities. Una non just get shame ..Were he visited now they have constant power supply there ..rubbish
