What you're seeing is an interesting and probably underlying (to some) wildlife event. You're seeing a pepsis wasp in the process of hunting a tarantula. However, it's hot going to kill the wasp. It's going to paralyse the tarantula, drag it to a burrow and lay a single egg on the spider's abdomen. When the egg hatches, the larva consumes the tarantula over several weeks. Because the larva needs fresh food, the tarantula is kept alive throughout the feeding period. It remains paralysed but not dead.

Today, I spoke at a United Nation's event, for the first time. I was a panelist at the World Wildlife Day event, organized by the United Nation's Office on Drug and Wildlife.
