@JSP2283 @OldCroaky Late nights/dawns is where young announcers got their start, not any more. For 35 years radio has relied on talent from other arenas, and it’s always short term. Young audiences have so much entertainment choice, the future for local radio isn’t good. Glad I’m nearly done.

@JSP2283 @KevKellaway Economically it is but it’s a reduced listener service. I recall during a large evening hailstorm that caused huge insurance claims the locally produced program gave quick advice to help listeners while the networked station was still deep into some well planned program item.

@KevKellaway @OldCroaky I believe it is OK to network "Nights & Overnights". There is also an argument for networking 9am -12 noon for talk into regional areas. BUT ... Breakfast, mornings on music stations, afternoon and drive should all be local. People want to begin and end their day with local news.

Can someone understand why some people think it’s acceptable to talk on their phone on speaker mode while sitting in a restaurant? What makes them think we want to listen to their conversation? What am I missing?

@8INK5 @AvidCommentator Surely during a fuel supply emergency 10 year safety checks can be dropped. Those tanks will easily go another 10.

@AvidCommentator Already been looking at the market for these to see if they started to move, I wanted a baseline price to see the movement Buyers need to be careful though, the tanks need to be inspected every 10 years, which can cost a lot if you can even get in for someone to do it

The boy just had his last day of elementary school today. That was a really excellent 6 years! Unfortunately I will no longer be able to get a day off of “volunteer leave” from work to go skiing with the kiddos any more😭
