If the police would have cooperated, the former PM Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, pressured by current PM Mark Carney, wouldn’t have had to invoke the Emergencies Act.
Instead, they did so unlawfully, as ruled by Justice Richard Mosley whose decision stated the invocation was unreasonable, “partly because the decision lacked transparency, justification, and intelligibility.”
(Read that last part again.)
The Mosley Decision was decisive and direct, then unanimously upheld by three Federal Court of Appeal judges.
Despite this, Carney’s “new government” is doubling down and seeking leave to appeal at the Supreme Court, with your tax dollars.
We had a plan with the city, were working on our exit strategy, and worked hard with law enforcement in good faith, only to find out that the upper echelons of the Ottawa Police Service were not.
