Just had this conversation at work. All the non-Catholics couldn’t figure it out, while me and my boss were just like, listen, just because you don’t go to Mass doesn’t mean you don’t have intrusive thoughts about what Pope Bob might say about whatever sin you’re about to commit.

@OldTomMoore Yes, if asked, but I don’t make a big deal about it. Some parishes use them and like them. I think it’s good for people to be taught that they should be burned, not thrown away. In general, mass production of images makes appropriate reverence very difficult

Of course, for any hardcopies that will likely be thrown in the garbage (flyers, newsletters…), icons are also inappropriate. So better to just not use such photos in print
