I am pleased to extend a warm invitation to all for the upcoming Nigeria Mining Week, scheduled to take place from the 18th to the 20th of November 2024. This year’s theme, ‘From The Inside-Out: Building The Mining Sector To Be The Cornerstone of Nigeria’s Economy’ reflects our collective vision to harness the vast potential of our mineral resources to drive sustainable development and economic growth for our nation. The Nigeria Mining Week serves as a pivotal platform for industry stakeholders, investors, and mining professionals, to engage in meaningful discussions, share innovative ideas, and explore collaborative opportunities aimed at transforming the sector. The event will address critical issues, showcase technological advancements, and highlight best practices that can enhance the solid minerals sector. It is an excellent opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and forging partnerships that can catalyze the growth of the sector. Join us.

Today, together with the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mary Ogbe, management and staff of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, we received the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, led by Chairman Senator Ekong Sampson, in the Conference Room at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja. During our discussions, I emphasized the immense potential of the solid minerals sector to strengthen Nigeria’s economy. With a strategic focus on budgetary support, we aim to drive revenue growth and foster sustainable development for our nation.

The days of shrinking the civic space: where the state is using it’s power repressively and pushing the voices of journalists and the people is coming back in Nigeria. Nigerians everywhere must resist the shrinking of civic space. Our voices is our power. Cc @CIVICUSalliance
