@AlpacaAurelius What you buy in the shop. Im building off grid in the Serbian mountains, and my parents here have lettuce from seeds that have been in generations for 100s of years. Trust me.. that stuff is not for normal eating. It's like medicine. Its so bitter....

lettuce is a scam. this is the only type of salad worth eating organic peaches, organic cucumbers, organic carrots, organic olive oil...all from the farmers market

Goats first, theyll eat pretty much any greenery so their feed cost is negligible. Chickens on the other hand are quite expensive to feed unless you free range them. Free ranging is needed for the health of both the animals and your mind 🤪 But chickens being free ranged are easier pray for foxes, hawks, etc So make sure you've got a solid chicken coop set up before you buy a single chicken. Also for any ruminants, always try to buy them young for bonding and health reasons.

Its peak to just walk to your neighbour and pick up fresh raw goat milk 🥛 and eggs 🥚 Next year I’ll have my own chickens and goats 😁

@MomentumJustus Ohh yea! Planted a couple already, however will take some years. Im looking to buy a couple 2- 3 year old trees that can be re-placed to here. That way I can have some fruits next year maybe or the year after. But yea gardening is lots of patience.
