People have no idea how cheap solar panels have gotten. A solar panel costs less per square foot than a plastic fence panel. Everything we touch will harvest the sun.

NEWS: AT&T and Verizon have told the FCC to reject @SpaceX's plan for cellular Starlink. The carriers tell the FCC that a SpaceX proposal to ensure robust coverage for its cellular Starlink system risks causing interference with their own networks. pcmag.com/news/att-veriz…

United Launch Alliance CEO Tory Bruno said the image of SpaceX’s new Raptor 3 engine that @elonmusk shared last week was a “partially assembled engine.” SpaceX President/COO Gwynne Shotwell just posted a photo of it being fired up & said: “works pretty good for a partially assembled engine.” 😂🔥

Some idiots cut off brand new Supercharger V4 cables! Why? 😠

I had been following Megapack price cuts lately but the current price is shockingly low. The pricing from last April equates to $482/kWh. The same project today is priced at just $266/kWh. Cheap cells from suppliers certainly helps to enable this pricing, but it also follows that revenue growth might not be as drastic as one would suspect given the huge beat we just saw. I will also be thinking hard about my assumed gross margin for Q2, and I'm fairly certain gross margins will drop from 25% to something a bit less exciting. This is overall very good news, but it requires a nuanced take.

NEWS: @Tesla has decreased the starting price of its 2hr Megapack commercial energy storage product (without installation) by ~$30,000 to $1,879,840. The wait time in the US for new orders has also changed to Q1 2025 (from Q4 2024).

Bold take from @TheEconomist in last issue: “Solar cells will in all likelihood be the single biggest source of electrical power on the planet by the mid 2030s.”
