I welcome the announcement about the ceasefire in #Gaza. Many have been hoping for this moment for the past 15 months. This agreement will finally bring much needed respite for the people of Gaza & the release of hostages. What’s needed is rapid, unhindered & uninterrupted humanitarian access and supplies to respond to the tremendous suffering caused by this war. #ceasefire

I welcome the announcement of a deal to secure a ceasefire & hostage release in Gaza. I commend the mediators — Egypt, Qatar & the USA — for their dedicated efforts in brokering this deal. I call on all to uphold their commitments & ensure that this deal is fully implemented. From the outset of the violence, I have called for an immediate ceasefire & the immediate & unconditional release of all hostages. Our priority must be to ease the tremendous suffering caused by this conflict. I call on all to facilitate the rapid, unhindered & safe humanitarian relief for all civilians in need. From our side, we will do whatever is humanly possible, aware of the serious challenges that we will be facing. I urge the parties and relevant partners to seize this opportunity to establish a credible political path to a better future for Palestinians, Israelis & the broader region. Ending the occupation & achieving a negotiated two-state solution, with Israel & Palestine living side by side in peace & security, in line with international law, relevant UN resolutions, and previous agreements remain an urgent priority. Only through a viable two-state solution can the aspirations of both peoples be fulfilled.

Peace is the best medicine! The #Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal is welcome and encouraging. Too many lives have been lost and too many families have suffered. We hope all parties will respect the deal and work towards lasting peace. Health needs in Gaza remain enormous. @WHO is ready to scale up its support, alongside partners.

@nickwnyc_ It gives vibes of the grandparents who died or had to leave before Puerto Rico progressed…. And the children and grandchildren who left and are unable to come back…. Leaving the “chair” empty.

It’s 10 p.m. in Puerto Rico, and only 72% of the U.S. territory has power following an island-wide outage yesterday and several outages today, per @lumaenergypr. In many areas, lack of electricity also means no running water. Source: lumapr.com/pagina-de-inic…
