Wormwood is bitterness. In the last days, many professing Christians will be victims to the root of bitterness growing in their hearts and choking love. Seeing lawlessness increase causes a righteous soul to despair, even to the point of bitterness towards other people. Don't drink the waters (spirit, knowledge, doctrine) turned to wormwood, but living waters that proceed from God's throne! We must root this out if it's taken root in us and not drink of such a spirit. Instead, we should fill ourselves with God's living word of faith, hope, and love and build one another up in a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind! Our flesh must be on the cross, for we are crucified with Him - not other people, for we do not wrestle against the flesh and blood of others. We await our Saviour; we await the Kingdom of peace, joy and righteousness He builds within us to be established physically here on earth when He returns! ___ Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Hebrews 12:15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; Revelation 8:11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. Deuteronomy 29:18 so that there may not be among you man or woman or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations, and that there may not be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood;

@OmegaMessage To be tempted is entirely external. It's their action to tempt that means you're being tempted. Acknowledging their attempt to tempt you doesn't mean you're considering it. Others' actions around you don't reflect on you.

@dmsevoac Thanks. He didn’t steal because He never sinned. But being tempted, He was tempted in all points as per Hebrews. As a Man He was tempted but never once gave in. That makes Him exceedingly great!

@OmegaMessage We don't know. There is nothing listed in scripture that states Jesus was tempted to steal. If Jesus did steal, that would violate a commandment from God and would invalidate Jesus as the Messiah. The Sadducees and Pharisees would be quick to bring that up to disprove Jesus.

What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 1 Corinthians 14:26

@OmegaMessage Per scripture, yes. But, it is impossible for God to be lured by it. Tempted means presented with the choice. His heart has zero chance of sinning.

@brittain78450 @OmegaMessage @An_Eternal_Hope I believe the distinction is that God cannot be tempted because He is the eternal creator with no physical needs or desires that could be turned sinful. But Jesus took on flesh and was tempted in every way as we are and always resisted the natural human desires we all feel.

How is one tested if there I no chance they might fail the test? Then it’s fake. And if they might fail it, why might they fail? In the case of biblical context, testing, whether you call it testing or being tempted is a test of one’s faithfulness. Satan is the Tempter. As with Job, all things are permitted by God, but God Himself tempts no one. Jesus was tempted. Even if you say this I only to mean He was tested, what could have been the reason He was at risk of not passing the test? That He was also fully man. “Not My will but Yours” Is that not what He prayed?

@OmegaMessage It was clearly outlined by the Bible that Jesus did no sin. Desire is a very human mechanism that comes from need to reproduce or need for companionship to fill a need. God doesn't need any of those. God has been planning to sacrifice Himself since the Fall, He was focused.

@OmegaMessage No. You misuse the word 'tempt' here. The Hebrew term is Nissayon which is 'tested', which means Jesus was also tested but He never sinned. Tested by who? Not the father but the demons/Satan. They were constantly trying to gauge His divinity.
