Newly appointed Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has launched a statewide crackdown on food adulteration and banned products within days of taking charge. After assuming office on May 25, Mundhe directed officials across Maharashtra to conduct special raids targeting adulterators, illegal gutkha sellers, unhygienic food manufacturers, and establishments violating food safety norms. In just three days, FDA teams carried out 53 raids across Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Amravati, Konkan and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar divisions. Authorities found 34 establishments allegedly involved in the sale of banned gutkha and pan masala. A total of 25 FIRs were registered, 33 accused arrested, 5 vehicles seized, and 27 establishments sealed. The biggest action was reported from Mumbai, where 19 establishments were raided and sealed. Officials also seized banned gutkha, flavoured tobacco and illegally packaged products. Apart from tobacco-related products, FDA teams inspected packaged drinking water, milk, edible oil, sweets, spices, paneer, ghee, bakery products and other food items. During the operation, authorities seized suspected adulterated and illegal food products worth ₹28.78 lakh, while samples have been sent for laboratory testing. The large-scale drive signals a tougher enforcement approach under Mundhe's leadership, with the FDA warning strict action against those compromising public health. #TukaramMundhe #FDA #Punetimesmirror #BreakingNews #GutkhaRaid

Dear PM Modi Please sell petrol at Rs.200 per litre to anyone who screams "Modi Modi Modi" at the pump, and issue a digital certificate (his picture and yours, on a set template titled "Kattar Rashtra Bhakt") to them immediately. For rest of normal citizens like me, please sell at Rs.70 per litre. Thank you 🙏

I never bought into the "Latur Pattern" hype, and the recent #NEETLeak along with degenerate Motegaonkar’s involvement just proves exactly why. It always baffled me: how does a "hub" churning out board toppers and doctors produce ZERO scientists or significant research? The illusion is shattering. #Neetscam #Laturpattern #NEET

@DrAditya2935 Completely agree with you here.Lately even on Instagram have seen reels where people are glorifying repeating 4-5years to clear NEET. Utter stupidity. There are many things in life other than becoming a doctor. This mentality needs to change.

A 4 year NEET dropper is a 12th pass. Even if clears NEET - he/she will end securing a job max 60-70k/month after another 6 years of grind. Also, there is no limit to NEET attempts - so in view of sunk cost fallacy - might appear for 10-15 times - who knows. A 4 times UPSC dropper is atleast a graduate. He/she would be stopped by max two more attempts. If by chance clears - he/she looks at generational wealth if corrupt and even if honest - a life surrounded by servants/drivers/power. If he doesn’t - he still has a chance at other exams - knowledge is transferable- PSU/RBI/State PCS. Or can make use of his/her graduate degree. Both are wasting their youth but the sunk cost fallacy is too strong. NEET aspirant - more so in my honest opinion. Who will be more depressed - depends on individual. But wasting 5 years on NEET is worse in my opinion. If your opinion is different- sure - have your opinion- no disrespect- just stating my views.
Sheikh Sahabb@sheikh_sahaaabb

What do you think? Who would be more depressed 4–5 year NEET dropper or a 4–5 year UPSC aspirant?

Millions of dreams at stake, yet #NEETUG2026 is clouded by leak rumors once again. To quote Samay Raina: "you only fight when the fight is fair if the fight is not fair you fuck off from there." Hardworking students deserve a level playing field, not this constant anxiety. #NEET2026 #NEETFraud @NTA_Exams

13) I took an oath to heal. But the most powerful neurosurgery I can do sometimes isn’t in the OT it’s in conversations like this one. Your brain built everything every memory, every relationship, every dream. Protect it. Quit smoking.

9) The surgical angle and this one surprises even doctors: Smokers who undergo neurosurgery have: Higher rates of post-op infection Poorer wound healing Increased anaesthetic complications Worse neurological recovery When I’m operating on a smoker, the risk calculus changes entirely.

8) For the science folks: Nicotine upregulates nAChRs acutely (feels good, that’s the hook). But chronically it drives neuroinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and blood-brain barrier disruption.Your brain is literally being inflamed from the inside, every single puff.

7) Cerebral Small Vessel Disease. This one flies under the radar. Smoking damages the tiny arteries deep inside your brain. The result? Silent lacunar infarcts micro-strokes you never feel accumulating over years. Until one day: gait disturbance, urinary incontinence, cognitive decline. The textbook “vascular dementia” picture.

🧵 THREAD: A Neurosurgeon’s Perspective on Smoking 1) We’re all taught to fear smoking for lung cancer, oral cancer, and heart disease. But as a neurosurgeon, let me tell you — what smoking does to your brain is equally terrifying, and almost nobody talks about it. 🧵 A thread that might make you put that cigarette down for good. 👇
