Luke Skywalker saving the fate of the galaxy without violence, without actually fighting at all, is an act of pure Jedi values and really captures the spirit of George Lucas incredibly well.

Two lines of dialogue in Episode IX reiterate that Anakin DID kill the Emperor and restore balance to the Force in Episode VI. Personally I prefer Anakin's death to be completely personal and concern saving his son, not an old prophecy that may have been misread.

@filmingwanderer No, the Sequels are trash and the movies made no sense in every single element in their excuse for a story. They are not Star Wars. She is a Mary Sue character who stole an identity she didn't earn and that never belonged to her.

This is great, obviously, but it’s really not needed. All you have to do is watch and pay attention to the Sequels and you’ll understand why she made this decision.

He’s nothing like the EU version of Luke and he challenges all expectations. Similarly, Israel’s Messianic expectations when Jesus entered the scene in the First Century were at the highest levels. They were under terrible oppression from the worst empire to have ever ruled the earth. The prophesied Messiah was expected to be a conquering king who would restore the fallen throne of King David and the glory of the peaceful reign of Solomon. That’s not who Jesus was. He came as a suffering servant. He was strength under control. He challenged everyone: the religious leaders; political leaders; revolutionaries. Everyone. Some loved him. Many opposed him. And no one understood him or what he was going to do.

@TSoS_ OK so 6 SW shows that were good, against: - At least 1 bad Episode film (everyone agrees on TRoS) - Solo - Mando S3 - Book of Boba Fett - Obi-Wan - Ahsoka - probably Mando & Grogu Then throw in at least half a dozen indefinitely delayed/cancelled projects

There are FAR more good Star Wars projects than bad ones made under Disney and people falsely equate a decline in interest & viewership with a general narrative decline. Under Disney, we had Andor, Rogue One, Rebels, Maul: Shadow Lord, Clone Wars S7, Mando S1 &2 and countless novels & comics that were fantastic. There is far more to love than hate in this franchise.

Luke did the most Jedi thing ever. He confronted his nephew without violence. Apologized for hurting him and allowed Ben to take out his anger on him without actually harming anyone, including Leia. He saved Ben Solo’s soul that day, even if he said that’s not why he was there.
