lol what a bad example. Bitcoin will ALWAYS have interest in what's happening on the Mother chain. Cardano, not so sure. Look at the history of every metaprotocol that has launched on Bitcoin. Let's not forget Tether launched on the Omni layer (meta protocol) on Bitcoin & Tether is back doing things on Bitcoin once again.

It's hilarious how all these laser-eyed maxis think ord.io shutting down is the death of Ordinals. They think it's the main indexer for Ordinals or something 😂 They have no idea how Ordinals work, just like most don't know how Bitcoin actually works. We own the data that sits in our wallets until we decide for it not to be there any longer. It's simple. Bitcoin acknowledges the data but who cares if it can or can't interpret it we can with our indexer. Bitcoin is decentralized so we can do whatever we want with OUR data we add to Bitcoin. We will continue to develop a collectors community because this is what the old collectors of baseball cards and other assets that other people thought were so dumb did. The data that is Ordinals will live on Bitcoin forever and we are good with that and you should be too. 🤌

You can own a Pokémon card, even if I think it’s stupid. Ordianls you dont own it, because the Bitcoin blockchain is public, you cannot truly “own” anything on it , you do have private keys that give access to specific UTXOs. There’s much more to it than that. Ordinals are NOT actually stored as a native feature of the blockchain itself. You need an Ordinals indexer to interpret and display them. Without that extra layer, Bitcoin nodes do not recognize “this satoshi is a JPEG” or “this is an NFT.” Not to mention, anyone can just take a screenshot and instantly have a copy of the image anyway.

People also thought/think sports & pokemon cards are stupid but yet they still go for millions of dollars. To each their own and the market always ends up deciding. You all hated counterparty in 2015/16 but yet there are still bitcoin counter party nfts that sell for high 5 low 6 figures.
