@MCovBrown Getting millions of views these days is easy, you just need to pay (regardless how the content is created). That's unfortunately the sad reality of it all now.

There’s a popular account that gets millions of views a week. Another popular creator called them out for using AI. My opinion: If you’ve figured out how to use 100% AI-generated content to drive millions of views, props to you. All that means is you’ve got great taste and a great system. Creating AI-generated content is easy. Getting millions of views is hard.

@JoaoSilvaWrites The largest problem now on some platforms is that distribution for many #IndieAuthors is down, unless they pay to advertise. Many therefore start and stay in the red, things not being the same as they once were.

Quick question for self-published authors only: we know it’s sales are hard and reaching readers feels harder than ever, but how are we doing in terms of $$$?

@craigzLiszt opposite take. when you’re actually an expert in something, you see how convincingly LLMs get it wrong there. that should make you more skeptical of the answers you can’t check, not less.

@craigzLiszt It depends on what and where it sources its information from. Some fields are currently untouchable for it, and will remain so.

@luke_tarzian Exceedingly large Follower Counts usually mean it's bought or fake these days (even for many celebrities), so it all means even less. A wholesome author gets spotted a mile off.

Always boggles my mind when people who haven’t published anything or are getting ready to publish their first book start acting like they’re hot shit because they have a massive follower count. Like…yeah, publishing your first book is awesome, but so is staying humble.

@BeckyLTuch Only typically by mainstream publishers, largely because of quality issues (even though they then come to make the worst).

Is there still a stigma around self-publishing novels? If so, there really should not be. I have utmost respect for any writer who self-publishes a book. I think it takes real grit!

@KaiXCreator It's already old, simply maturing at best. New tech has already arrived. Let's see what occurs.
