In April, on-chain hacks totaled ~$620.64M, mostly due to protocol-level issues such as smart contract bugs, misconfigured permissions, bridge vulnerabilities, oracle issues, and custody flaws.
You can’t easily assess a protocol’s real security, but these simple habits go a long way: secure your funds during market dips and hack waves, avoid unfamiliar DApps, be cautious with high approvals, always double-check the contract and call data before signing, regularly revoke unused approvals, and keep large holdings in self-custody with a hardware wallet.
