The Democratic party has no plan for how to make the country better beyond Trump being gone, so it makes sense a lot of liberals wouldn't either.

Systemic changes that make the world better that would prevent Trump from having happened are good, and a lot of liberals would get on board if they were simply given the right info and rejected some of their worst ideological tendencies.

Liberals being focused on Trump as the only problem with the No Kings protests is dumb, but it isn't JUST because their ideology is incapable of systemic critique (although part of it). Liberals are taught to be complacent and they are given no positive vision.

Jimmy Kimmel tried to clean up his comments about Markwayne Mullin being a former plumber, but he tried to have it both ways. First he doubled down ignoring Mullin's management experience with his plumbing company "[Trump's] apple polishers are all in a tizzy because I made light of the fact that his new head of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, before he was a senator, was a plumber. And now he's the head of Homeland Security. Which is not necessarily the kind of resume you might hope for, for the person in charge of protecting us from terrorism" Later, he insists it has nothing to do with plumbers and is just about his ideas, "Let me make this very clear. I'm not upset that the head of Homeland Security used to be a plumber. I'm upset that he isn't still a plumber, okay?" Then why even mention the plumber aspect?

In an ideal world, we wouldn't have to do this. But given the political climate where rural people unironically believe in demons and not climate change, we have to be mean to them. Refraining from bullying them is morally irresponsible.

Jimmy Kimmel is unfunny but I think we need to be more classist and elitist toward blue collar laborers of the Midwest. Their culture is inferior.

I think woke 2 is just a concession to the right; we can't make people woke unless we're edgy. We need to combine elements of both wokes and force people to conform whether they like it or not.

Personally I think that woke 1 was cringe and less convincing to the average person, but when it was used by actual leftists and not cynically weaponized, it was a lot less cynical.

Woke 2 is a great idea but I don't think it can work in the long run. People are morally obligated to be woke, but the left can't agree on what elements of woke 1 to discard or keep.
