When the 3rd-party payment provider sends a ping to your webhook endpoint /api/payment/success, take the metadata and push it to a queue. If you are using Node.js, you can use BullMQ, and if you are using Python, you can use Celery. Both are job queue systems that integrate with Redis for persistence. It’s best to queue the job instead of processing it immediately so the 3rd-party provider doesn’t have to wait several seconds while you update the user record in the database or give value to the user. Instead, acknowledge the request right away, add the job to the queue, and let your worker handle the processing. Once the job is completed, you can trigger an onComplete event and send a Server-Sent Event (SSE) or WebSocket update to notify the client in real time. This approach keeps your webhook fast, reliable, and fault-tolerant. And that's my approach below, hire me today :)
