@Onlinetoooften

One of these days I'll think of something clever to put here. AMA about the faith; I could use the practice.

What great faith looks like, to believe all his life and rewarded with certainty in death.

There’s not a single one that exists, they are all completely unnecessary. You can accomplish the same thing narratively with just allusions to sex. All sex scenes do is make me feel uncomfortable when I try to watch movies with other people. They should be abolished from film.

What’s a sex scene that genuinely mattered to the plot and couldn’t be removed from the film?

@nonFACTOTUMsum Consecration is two simultaneous miracles: the bread and wine become the Body and Blood, AND God permits it to retain the accidents. Eucharistic miracles are God choosing to withhold the second miracle (in part or whole) for the benefit of the faithful.

Nope, it's very much not fine His Name is sacred, you don't just go throwing around people's names/titles willy nilly right? Why would you do it for God?
Selias@Selias09

@JadeAtrophis That's not what taking the Lord's name in vain means. Saying "God damn it" is fine. Swearing to God that you'll do something and then not doing it isn't.

Oh I HATE that they do that No other female saint who joined a convent and chose a new name has this happen to them Not one. It's so stupidly obvious why they do this and it has always bothered me.

An aside: the Camelite-erasure that rewrites St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross's name as "Edith Stein", as unfortunately commonplace as it is, is incredibly disrespectful. St. Teresa Benedicta conciously chose that name as exemplifying her love of God, departing from the world.

This post was intended to not have a single shred of irony btw. It’s a huge problem how common taking the Lord’s name in vain has become. It’s a very serious sin.

@BENZOTOOIE @JadeAtrophis I can support bigotry, but taking the Lord’s name in vain? Death penalty.

Bro, I’m bored with this. Many people have told you they buy minis because they like the lore, whether from the codex, novels, or the aesthetics influenced by the lore. The fact that you, and I assume your circle of friends, don’t care about it and only look at stats doesn’t mean others feel the same way. There are many people who don’t even play 40K but still have full shelves of minis. You accuse me of projection, yet every one of your arguments is filled with projection. You can’t seem to understand that lore is the glue holding it all together, and without it, 40K would just be another generic sci-fi setting like many others on the market. Even quality alone couldn’t save GW, because other miniature ranges already match or come close in quality. I also assume you think playing a fluffy list is something abhorrent and that nobody does it, because to you, losing isn’t fun. Having a good time and building a story out of a game you can tell your friends about seems alien to you. To this day, I still tell people about a Mordheim game from around 20 years ago, where my shitty spearman, who had a full backstory explaining why he was in the warband killed an elf mage because I rolled insanely well. In your case, you probably wouldn’t even include that model in your list because it would be a waste of points.

Do you like losing every game you play? This is just more proof of your projection calling actual gamers tourists while likely not even understating how the game works. Even if you hate the lore you should still know that intercessors are superior on the tabletop.
