Someone finally needed to say it. But I denounce the dissident right.

@StealerTime @wonderparlour I looked at their website. It looks amazing. I would like to visit if I were in the neighbourhood. In fact, I'd love to work there and give elocution lessons to the maids.

For a maid café devoted to Britain, this may be the most natural thing in the world, but we keep a real piece of Cotswold stone in the café, and from time to time, when we find ourselves missing the English countryside, we gently reach out and touch it.

ASKING A KOREAN WOMAN ABOUT KOREAN GENDER RELATIONS 🇰🇷 Went out with a Korean woman last year, conversation was good but at one point began to get curious about the gender and TFR ‘discourse’ so-called you often hear repeated about Korea so decided to segue in asking her questions about it: “I heard gender relations are pretty bad in Korea” “What do you mean?” “I mean I read on the internet that men and women really hate each other now” “Really? I wouldn’t say so” “That’s what they say online” “Where do they say this online?” “Twitter” “I’ve never used Twitter” “Have you heard of the 4B movement?” “What?” “The 4B movement” “I don’t know what it is” “Have you not heard of the 4B movement? Isn’t it famous?” “No” [via Wikipedia: 4B or "Four Nos" is a feminist movement that originated in South Korea. The name refers to its defining four tenets which all start with the Korean-language term bi(Korean: 비; Hanja: 非), roughly meaning ‘NO!’. Its proponents do not date men, marry men, have sex with men or have children with men - hence 4 B’s] Showed her this on my phone “Huh, I’ve never seen this in my life” “Is it not widespread in Korea?” “No” “Do you feel like a lot of Korean women hate men?” “Who told you that? I don’t think so” “How do you personally feel about men?” “I don’t hate men. Why would I hate men?” “I don’t know I heard some Korean women do” “I don’t hate men, I like men” “Are man haters not common in Korea?” “A lot of men are very sweet” “Well, did you hear about the fertility crisis in Korea?” “What do you mean?” “They say people in Korea aren’t having kids anymore” “My cousin had a child a few months ago” “I mean people are having less kids on average” “I know lots of young couples with kids” “Apparently the data says Koreans are having less kids” “What data is that?” “Probably UN data” “I would like to have children one day, I think many other women would” “Do you not think this is just anecdotal though?” “I don’t really encounter many man haters in Korea” “The data has to come from somewhere” “Why are you asking all this?”

@OliDugmore This is not America! Anglican Christianity is literally the country’s established church, it’s perfectly appropriate that Anglican ceremonies have a special right to occupy public space

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. Perform these rituals in churches if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.
Sadiq Khan@SadiqKhan

Today is Palm Sunday, marking the beginning of Holy Week as we approach Easter. Today's procession across Trafalgar Square to St Martin-in-the-Fields is a powerful retelling of the story of Jesus’s arrival in Jerusalem.

Serious question, do you genuinely enjoy staying home all day, completely alone, without seeing anyone?

Walked the dog last night past a house where 3 middle-aged couples were playing cards at a kitchen island, with glasses of wine My first thought: this is the world internet rightists say they want to protect My second: internet rightists would pour scorn on those people

A very special first introduction today - my second grandchild. It is all of our responsibility to leave a better Britain to our children and grandchildren than the one left to us. We certainly have an awfully long way to go, but I still believe we can do it.
