Friend of mine is 55 years old, married and doesn’t want modern strategy board games.
His household income is roughly $63k/yearly and he's only one month behind on the rent.
He has 4 figures saved for retirement, and visits Coney Island multiple times a year.
I think people like this are going to regret not having modern strategy board games in their future.
One day, when he’s old, all he will have to look back on is a decent credit rating and a healthy retirement fund.
Instead of putting that money towards having modern strategy board games and building a closet full of cardboard and meeples, he’s choosing practicality.
This just seems so wasteful and boring to me.

I have to say, making attendance part of students' final high school mark seems strange. In grade 10/11/12, especially, absences are often a side-effect of bigger achievements, like competitive sport, real life volunteer projects, etc.
