1997: Scrubbing toilets listening to Tony Robbins tapes. 2026: Paying Tony Robbins' speaking coach $50,000 and giving speeches at TEDx. I had just arrived from India with a super thick accent during my freshman year of college. At the time, I was working as a janitor, scrubbing floors and cleaning toilets to pay my way through school. And the head custodian told me to get English tapes from the library to improve my accent. But they didn't have any, so the librarian handed me Tony Robbins' tapes instead. So for 6 months, I mopped floors with Tony's voice in my ears. The Sony Walkman became my English teacher… 20 years later, I started doing keynote speeches. Everything was going great, but I noticed something… Everyone said they loved my talks, but they weren't inviting me back to speak. I was getting people to listen, but they weren't remembering. So, in a full circle moment, I paid $50,000 for Tony Robbins' speaking coach. He taught me 2 frameworks: 1. The "1, 2, 3, too many." Give people more than 3 concepts, and they remember nothing. 2. "Geometric shapes." Put your ideas into triangles, circles, squares. It gets branded into memory. But did they work? Well, after I implemented these frameworks, everything changed… Event organizers started booking me year after year… I was getting standing ovations. But the ultimate proof was seeing people use the concepts I was talking about in my speeches. When people can teach what you taught them, you've moved beyond speaking. You've created a transformation. From a Sony Walkman to learn English to a $50,000 speaking coach… But here’s the thing: The biggest gift Tony gave me wasn’t just how to speak… It was how to be remembered.
