OAC Board member Dr. John Parker took time out of a busy day in the cardiac catheterization laboratory yesterday to appear virtually before Ontario legislators at the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs. His message was clear and measured: Ontario’s outpatient cardiology system delivers excellent, timely care in the community, but its sustainability is increasingly fragile. Maintaining access to high-quality cardiac care close to home will require targeted support for outpatient infrastructure, staffing, and operational capacity. This is about strengthening what works, before pressures compromise patient access.
