I made an app for women who use the contraceptive patch and never want to miss a change. As a birth control patch user you need to change the patch every 7 days to stay protected, but there's no good app to remind you or track your current week. Most people I talked to were using workarounds: period trackers, calendar reminders, notes apps... So I built Patch. A simple reminder that tells you exactly what to do and when. I'm really happy about the launch and proud that this is the first project I shipped for @shipordie_. If you don't know it, you ship a project within 30 days or you're out. @adamlyttleapps Interesting result. I have also artificially extended my onboarding a bit at patchreminder.app. I should try keeping it a little shorter.. sometimes less really is more.

I tested 2 video onboarding sequences and the results surprised me: Last week the app had 60 organic downloads 50% saw the condensed version: 5 trial activations 16% conversion 50% saw the extended version: 0 trial activations 0% conversion 🤦‍♂️ 60 downloads isn't enough to draw any conclusions. But it's starting to tell an early story already.

Hey Peter, I have a suggestion for improvement that you might want to consider. In your screen recordings, your background image (the one with the two hands) constantly draws my attention. It would probably be better to use a more understated background image (perhaps just a simple color gradient).. something that most Mac users are likely already familiar with anyway. 🙂

Every launch, same gut-drop. I hit publish, then spend an hour clicking my own buy button and refreshing the link preview, praying nothing's broken. So I built ShipKit. I’m making a bold (maybe crazy) statement. I’m going to quit my job by my 41st birthday — August 29th. I need ~$6,000 MRR and $100k in the bank to make it happen. I know how unrealistic that sounds. My current job pays only $12k more than my last one but the stress has turned my life upside down. It’s not worth it. So I’m fighting like hell for this. For my family and the babies we’re trying to have. Even if I only hit 1/10th of the goal, the fire it lights under me will be worth it. Patch looks super clean and incredibly well-designed—love the intuitive UX and the focus on privacy for contraceptive patch reminders. Since you have such an elegant utility app, would love to have you drop it in to play and get some genuine, noise-free reviews from fellow builders whenever you have a minute!

Thank you very much! I also tried to pay attention to the UX… specifically, to everything that could potentially go wrong while using my app. I attempted to anticipate every possible way a user might enter inputs or misuse functions within the patch. @OnlyBle @shipordie_ I had the idea already in my mind before I joined ship or die. For the execution Claude code helped a lot. :-) the website was also finished in just 4-5 prompts luckily :) I focused into just the main feature. The app is by far not finished yet.

No, it is specifically for the contraceptive patch user. Users of the patch must change it every 7 days over a period of four weeks. In the fourth week, they must remove it completely to give their body a break. It is a specialized app exclusively at women who use the contraceptive patch. :-) I want to create some advertising content on TikTok and see if I can generate revenue with this app. In parallel, I will focus on the next "Ship or Die" project. Before that, however, I still need to evaluate a few ideas.
