Rita’s mum was hit with a stroke in 2024, the same year she lost her husband (Rita’s stepdad).
Since that day, life has never been the same. Rita’s stepbrothers moved on with their lives, leaving her completely alone to care for her mother. She has borrowed from friends and family, emptied her savings, moved her mum from hospital to hospital, and even tried traditional medicine that almost cost her mother’s life.
Now her mum is recovering in a general hospital, going for physiotherapy twice a month. But her blood pressure and sugar levels are still dangerously high, making treatment difficult.
Rita is exhausted, sad, lonely, and overwhelmed. Her job doesn’t pay enough, and stroke care is financially crushing.
She’s not asking for luxury. She’s simply begging for help to keep her mother alive.
