@TheWhitePube Do you know that your RSS feed contains ALL of your posts? It's 2.5MB compressed so probably taking up more of your bandwidth than necessary, and it can be slow to download. If it's intended, then sorry to bother you 😊

Inspired by this on Ask MetaFilter (ask.metafilter.com/371806/Complet… ) there's a new category of Completionist Blogs - people trying to visit, see, or do every *something* in a category. ooh.directory/blogs/uncatego… If you know of others that are still updating, do reply and we'll add them.

Every category has an RSS feed of blogs added to it. Now, these feeds also notify you of new sub-categories added within the category. A bit more explanation here: ooh.directory/blog/2023/cate…

We now calculate how often every blog updates. So you can filter the Recently updated blogs page to only show the quieter blogs. And you can get an indication of how often each blog updates as you're browsing the directory. More on the blog: ooh.directory/blog/2023/post…

@appalbarry As I say, often the line is blurry. But prominence of email sign up vs a reverse-chronological list of posts is one sign. Being on Substack is another.

@appalbarry There is a big grey area in which some things are neither solely a blog or solely a newsletter. But at the moment substack == newsletter for me and many people, and Ooh.directory is for blogs. That view might change in future.
