Works associated with the footway near the HTC roundabout are due to be completed in the coming weeks.

Current works on the A4 cycle lane scheme are from Goldsworthy Way, towards the Mini dealership on Bath Road, along with the off carriageway works within the existing shared use footway between the southern A4 service road to Westgate Retail Park.

A road closure is in place from tomorrow (Tues) from 6am to 7pm Friday 17 April, on the eastbound A4 Bath Road, between Huntercombe Lane North and Goldsworthy Way. There will be night and day works for kerbing, drainage, resurfacing and markings on the footway and cycleway.

@Clarky23793418 @SloughCouncil They need the money to do useless road work projects like cycle lanes no one uses If they don't give out the multi million pound contracts those in charge won't get the back handers, it also means end of year they will have a surplus so can't raise council tax by 5%

@SloughCouncil As if the bus lane fiasco and total failure wasn't enough. I mean hardly cycle central is it. But without useless contracts to hand out. Where will the back handers come from i guess

@SloughCouncil Roadworks cutting 2 lanes to making traffic worse, cycling lane to be used by about 3 people a day —while other nearby works are also approved, making traffic even worse. Right after Easter too 🙃 Typical Slough Council, making everyone’s lives harder.

@wise0w1 @SloughCouncil Pretty sure they got the money from the government to reduce traffic and pollution, as per normal council spending on making people lives more miserable and wasting it on making traffic worse. If they didn't give out the pointless contracts they wouldn't get the back handers.

@2147mill In 2006 a UC claimants could have household savings of £6k before having their claim reduced and £16k before support was withdrawn entirely. Today, it's still £6k and £16k.

In 2006, you could earn £36,000 before hitting higher rate tax. In 2026, it's £50,270. Sounds good? Inflation in that time was 73%. If thresholds kept pace, higher rate would start at £62,280. That's £12,010 of income now taxed at 40% that shouldn't be. Fiscal drag is silent theft.
