For all his brilliance & grasp of the law, Justice Dr. Flavian Zaija is not a very civil human being & neither is he likable. That might mean nothing because the Chief Justice is supposed to be competent not likeable but surely he can be less angry with everyone around him.

Mwiiru scores 60 votes in the speakership election. It means that all the NUP members voted for him and also managed to get some votes from other parties and from independents.

There’s no need in the prosperity journey to try too hard to prove how rich one is. The important thing is to keep one’s eyes on the big picture, all the time. Petty mindedness must be tot³ally discarded. Don’t get distracted as you pursue your long term dream. Monday quote #WorkAndProsper

One lesson we can pick from Arsenal fans jubilation going n around the country is that Ugandans love football and if their support of European football is critically analysed &tapped into, fans might turn up in big numbers at different stadia of local clubs.Other factors constant

The Ugandan capital, Kampala, is the city with the most road humps [and potholes] in the world, says .@AndrewMwenda on the .@Bad_Natives_Pod. The situation is so bad that city authorities even build humps over potholes! One reason is corruption, which has liberalised the building of road humps. Virtually any house owner along a street or road can bribe city officials to build a private hump near their house to prevent wild boda boda riders and uncontrolled drivers from knocking down their pets or children, or colliding with them as they drive out.

The French’s and @EmmanuelMacron’s Senegalese slave, @PR_Diomaye, has fired the man who made him president, @SonkoOfficiel. Faye is weak and unpopular. He intends to block Sonko from running for president in the next election and might be preparing either to detain or kill Sonko. But Faye has forgotten that Sonko controls the party which made him president and can impeach him within a week. Faye reminds us of Compoure and his betrayal of Thomas Sankara. Pan-Africanists are watching!

@TonyNatif I think it could be better for Sonko to let Faye govern his government as he awaits his turn. Same happened in DRC and now the former president was convicted, yet at the start he thought that he could be governing Kishekedi.

The Senegal Situation in Ugandan Terms. To paint the Senegal situation in Ugandan terms, imagine Bobi Wine is jailed for saying something mean to President Museveni and that conviction bars him from running for President. Then Joel Ssenyonyi steps up, rides Bobi Wine’s coat-tails and wins. Then Bobi becomes Ssenyonyi’s Prime Minister and continues to govern like he run his populist campaign. Uganda wants IMF debt but IMF says first settle or restructure the debt your previous government took. Ssenyonyi and his Finance Minister bite the bullet and work on restructuring. It’s not ideal but pragmatism wins the day. The country has to be saved from economic ruin. Bobi Wine, the Prime Minister, says “no we the people of Uganda didn’t sign up for that debt and in fact we didn’t sign up for all these austerity measures, tax on fuel to help support education, healthcare and stem economic collapse. We didn’t sign up for any of that and the people power movement whose mandate you Joel, rode to victory is against that. This is an administration by people power committee so forget it Mr Ssenyonyi.” Suddenly, the country hits a fork in the road; it seems to have two Presidents and the situation is untenable. What would you do if you were Ssenyonyi the President? Fire your Prime Minister and live with the consequences. That, in a nutshell, is what appears to be happening in Senegal. Thank you for your attention to my hangover-ridden Ted-talk.
Anthony Natif@TonyNatif

Interesting times ahead for Senegal.

As part of my routine, Friday is one of the days I dedicate to working out. Today here in Germany, I chose to wear a jersey gifted to me by the @MuteesaIRoyal University football team (The Lions) after winning the University League competition. 🦁⚽ I chose this shirt to send a message to the youth, especially students and footballers, about the importance of staying physically active and keeping our bodies fit through regular exercise. 💪🏾
