Why is our Sun smiling? We think its because of all the planets it has, but it might just be coronal holes seen in ultraviolet light. (Regions where fast solar wind gushes into space.) We do know of another star with 8 planets, and that makes *us* smile: go.nasa.gov/3FQucZQ

@GergelyOrosz @heetermaria When I started coding in 1983 it was Assembly (6502 or Z80 in my case) or interpreted BASIC, which was brutally slow. Programmers these days are spoiled! I'd like to see a hand-coded ML prog run on modern hw with no OS etc.

Today I learned that the 1999 game Rollercoaster Tycoon was coded by one developer - Chris Sawyer - 99% in Assembly over 2 years.
My only question is: WHY. Why did he write almost all the code in Assembly? Truly next-level dedication. (via @heetermaria)

Hey Neptune. Did you ring? 👋
Webb’s latest image is the clearest look at Neptune's rings in 30+ years, and our first time seeing them in infrared light. Take in Webb's ghostly, ethereal views of the planet and its dust bands, rings and moons: go.nasa.gov/3RXxoGq #IAC2022
