If everything is above board — why the secrecy? Anonymity order. Public excluded. Even when transparency is being sought. This is a live case before the Court of Appeal. 👉 Who is really being protected? #PublicInterest

How many of these prisoners had independent scrutiny of the evidence against them? A current Court of Appeal case (“Mr P”) involves AI analysis and expert forensic review of witness statements. If that level of scrutiny wasn’t applied elsewhere — what does that mean for other convictions? Could this open the door to appeals?

Good morning — why is the anonymised “Mr P” case not being reported? A live Court of Appeal case involving: – analysis of 83 witness statements – shared authorship patterns identified – proceedings behind closed doors – the public excluded Is this not a matter of public interest?

Rising energy costs amid the war in the Middle East, the murder trial of Adam Corcoran who murdered his partner Daena Walsh, and the demolition of a Meath family home dominate Friday's front pages. breakingnews.ie/ireland/what-t…

AI shouldn’t be dismissed outright. In one case, it identified patterns across witness statements — leading to independent forensic linguistic analysis by Dr Natalie Schilling. Her analysis of 83 statements identified shared authorship patterns across 51 witness and complainant statements. These matters are now before the Court of Appeal. That’s where scrutiny belongs.

Today I challenged the Minister on sentencing for child sexual abuse material offences. Possession is not a victimless crime. Every image is abuse. Every download repeats that harm. Yet suspended sentences continue. The Minister will not introduce minimum sentences. That is wrong. • No national data on sentencing outcomes • Estimated 50–150 suspended sentences in recent years • Many cases avoid immediate custody Where is the deterrent? I will keep pushing for accountability and consistency in sentencing. #Justice #ChildProtection #Ireland

@SkyNews @joecguinan If we can’t have double standards internationally — we shouldn’t accept them at home either. Ireland currently has a live Court of Appeal case: – proceedings behind closed doors – public excluded – witness evidence under challenge Accountability starts at home.

Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson says we can't have "double standards" with the international rule of law. She compares the criticism of Putin invading Ukraine with the U.S. and Israel's strike on Iran, which she says very few countries have spoken explicitly about it.

I love Ireland. I love being Irish. I’ve always said I’d never want to leave. But what’s the point in staying? Live at home until you’re 40, or spend your life paying rent to a vulture fund? The people running this country have left nothing for anyone trying to build a life.

A case before the Court of Appeal. The public cannot attend. Reporting is restricted. Yet serious evidential issues are being raised. If this is justice — why is it happening behind closed doors? #PublicInterest

Child protection demands accountability. Tusla sits at arm’s length from Government. Responsibility is blurred. Decisions are too slow in serious cases. We are calling for an independent review. Nothing more, nothing less. Put children first. Fix the system. Full interview on Newstalk below. #ChildProtection #Tusla #Accountability

Government is very conscious of the impact volatile energy prices are having. It is a very serious situation. Our immediate priority is to try and alleviate pressures on people, on families, and doing so in a way that protects the economy and avoids adding to inflation.
